What Naryar said.

So really, the only way to beat Scrap now, is either KO (Almost no chance), WBP (No chance), or Immobilisation (Less than no chance).

We're all screwed. =D

You guys will want to do a fight to get him out. I'm no longer available to even try to do so. Its either you fight or your bot commit suicide in a effort to get at it. Though if a "somebody" allows it I volunteer to face it. (I'll most likely still lose but it will be fun)

I reckon I have a chance against him, if I get enough side-on attacks. Probably a slim chance, but it's chance. I might be able to score a WBP as well, with a degree of luck.

NFX could ramm it, score more points than SD and while doing this he pushes him into the blade and sends him oota.

Three fights in and already there has been a lot of action and controversy. Plus I think these are probably the most 'professional' fight videos i've seen so far. Although the stat screens tend to fade away very quickly.

Well done to GRW for winning our fight though, Still have a lot to learn, but hopefully I can go far in the loser's bracket.

Wish ya luck dragonsteincole. Though we may end up against each other in the end if all goes well for both of us.

My only reccomendation is to pause on the stat screens lol but I will try to make them longer.

And I will check to see if Crocodile gets OOTA. It should IIRC...

I guess I can just block this on my side by using adblock plus, so it doesn't matter.

I think he is frustrated, or some similar feeling.

That's the first time I see mighty 123 like that, though.

To be fair though, this tourney's been rather harsh to him.
First half his entry is lost and then he get's drawwn against a somewhat cheap and almost invincible bot.

things are cheap when they require little thought, effort and/or skill

Clicks robot is none of those points

I said somewhat cheap because some people would regard it's way of actually winning a bit cheap.
I personally don't think it is though, sorry 123 but I think it's fair play  :embarr

I will be the first to admit that Hide's strategy is... not exactly cheap, according to Joe's definition, but abusive of the arena and loopholes in the rules and certainly cowardly.  That's why I made it come out and attack after 1:30.  So you only need to survive the blade for 90 seconds.  (With any luck though, Seek and the blade will have softened you up a good deal by then. ;) )

so it is the standard DSL Blade Arena ? I dont remember the Blade being powerful enough to oota UHW's

The blade is told to be unstoppable in the .py (not just near-infinite torque; there's actually a way to make it unstoppable), so anything that hits it, no matter how heavy, will be flung away at the same velocity at which the blade is spinning.

That said, when I was testing Hide, it usually took many hits before a bot was flung OOTA.  Most of the time the blade would just knock the opponent away and they would come back for another go.  Only very fast bots that rammed the blade full force, and unstable vertical spinners, were flung OOTA right away (the VS's because their weapons tumbled them over the edge).  Probably Steel Grinder's moderate speed combined with all those vertical spinners made it easy to fling OOTA.  However, as I said, I think the lag also makes it easier to get OOTA's.  I am surprised at Yoda's claim that Tiamat is flung OOTA so easily.

Now, regarding the elimination issue: it is easily possible to edit the arena .py so Disk Hammer, Crocodile, and other bots are always eliminated when they get flung OOTA.  Disk Hammer really should have been eliminated in that first fight with EFIE... BUT you could argue that if you fix that, you also have to fix the blade post collision, or leave the arena as is.

If you decide to fix the elimination issue, just find this in the .py:

Code: [Select]

#check to see if anyone has been "eliminated" by falling off the tabletop
        for each in self.players:
            if plus.getLocation(each)[1] < -5:
                plus.eliminatePlayer(each)

and change the -5 to a bigger number, like -3.

just be careful where the floor is (I assume you would have thought about this though Click) just if you set it to high it will eliminate the robots in the arena

Well, doesn't happen everytime, but it CAN was my point.  Seems to be about 25% of the time.  And that was me driving straight into the blade at match start.

Glad to hear Hide does eventually come out, though, makes me feel a bit better about my chances.
