ok I have set up a site which will hold brackets, videos etc when the tournament is underway

http://www.robotarenacubes.t83.net

the home page has a poll for everyone

choose option one if you want complete realistic down to a weapon crossing the battery isn't allowed

choose option two for no limit to what can be done

choose option three for realistic rule with components (eg: no stacking) but things like a eFFe glitch or a weapons blade cuts through a wheel a bit or something similar

2 people have already sent pictures of bots to me with not absolute realistic but I would rather not turn them away so I would prefer people stay away from option 1

How does qualifying work exactly?

EDIT: Probably going to build a shell spinner for this....
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

That's it. You're going to win this... unless someone enters a gut ripper...

basically that little blue bot running away, your bot has to kill it asap the quicker the kill the better the qualifying position will be, and higher qualified vs lower qualified first round, so if your bot qualified well you get an easier fight

What about SnSs? They relly on the opponent coming to them, thus they may not even try catch the little bot. I can see some flaws in this, though at least it is original. :)
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

its not really flawed just means your bot wont get a good qualifying position but if your prepared to sacrifice that for that type of bot its up to you, the little bot does tend to trip over if its left on the run too long, let me put it this way ... Its not made to last  lol

wow you really think so that would deserve an award since there is going to be 12 entrants lol

ok voting is now closed for the format with a tie between Realistic and Realistic-ish so I have decided to use the guideline click had for BBEANS4 since he always runs successful tournaments so here it is

Clickbeetle Wrote:

DSL Realistic Rule. You're probably all familiar with this now, but a quick recap: No part can intersect another part that couldn't have a slot cut in it in real life. Example: Spinner blade passing through armor plate or chassis=OK. Spinner blade passing through wheel or battery=Not OK. There is a small margin of tolerance, though. If a spinner blade just nicks a motor or something, that's OK. Basically this rule is just intended to stop burst-enhanced overlapping spinners and their ilk like you see in stock RA2.

Glitches in the game may be exploited as long as they do not violate the above condition.

be wary however as you will only get one do over for the whole tournament if there is a havok explosion

now that is settled the rules on the first page will be changed and entry is open until the 5th of May or Until 12 Entry's (whichever comes first) those of you who sent me an entry before this post may change theirs as long as its before the cutoff line

Just PM me your entry's (as some people have) before the 5th

Happy Cube Smashing !!!!

I'll enter the new version of the robot I entered in WRL.

But does DIY AI mean that we have to do it ourselves? Because I don't know how to AI.

im a little iffy on the AI but I did do Russian roulette's bot so I would prefer "DIY - do it yourself" but if you cant i shall do the best I can
