I sense a trend in the votes...

As soon as somebody votes for different bots, there's about 5 people who vote for the exact same thing afterwards.  Then another person votes for something slightly different, and it starts all over.

Also, if somebody mentions a bot, somebody votes for it immediately afterward.

Let's put it to the test.

Most Entertaining: Terminal Force Whiplash Effect  (It's cool how it can be a clamp or a flipper.)

Most Anticipated: HapHazard 2  (It's built like a tank and I really expected it to be near unbeatable in this arena, especially after Heat 1.  Honorable mention to SnSnS 3.)

Most Innovative: Flying Guillotine  (It's the first of its kind and also the first stilt-bot ever in a tournament.)

Hated By Fate: Turbulence  (I've gotta agree with everyone else on this one.  Honorable mentions to The Devil's Vortex and Fallen Hero.)

Also, no one's voted for Kheper for Most Entertaining...  :frown:

Now if my theory is correct, the next person will vote Kheper for Most Entertaining, and the next 5 people will copy my votes almost exactly, with maybe just 1 change.

To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.

Could someone please explain to me how Flying Guillotine was anticipated at all? I don't get it.

I've always wanted to see bots commit suicide inside the arena. :P

I was gonna ask that too. I figured SnSnS 3 would be more anticipated because everyone knew I was entering an SnS, and then they saw the cheaty hammers and were all :O

your forgetting a meaning for the word anticipated

it doesnt just mean predicted but "be excited or anxious about"

No, I think that everybody else is forgetting the meaning of "anticipated."

To me, I have absolutely no idea how so many people could get the most excited about an unconventional bot from a builder with absolutely no track record in tournaments that everybody with half a brain knew was going to fail. It makes no sense! If I'm reading down a list of entrants, I want to see what Click is going to build, what Naryar is going to build, what MikeNCR is going to build; the tournament heavyweights per say.

All I want to know is the reasoning for people anticipating FG by such an overwhelming margin.

well done people, nobody got into dictionary debating last time

same word multiple meaning.. just your interpretation of it.. dont criticize others for there choices.

 an·tic·i·pate [an-tis-uh-peyt] verb, -pat·ed, -pat·ing.

–verb (used with object)

1. to realize beforehand.

2. to expect.

3. to look forward to.

4. be sure of.

So basically I think that Joe is trying to imply that everyone wanted to see how it did once we saw the bot.

I gave about 4 definitions

no all directly apply really... its essentially

vote for....

a robot you expected to do well

or

a robot you looked forward to seeing

I dont understand the complexity, there was no problem last time I used that award name... either everyone is getting more critical or I need to make voting pm private next time

And what I'm asking is why a large number of people chose that one particular bot as the one that they
expected to do well
or
looked forward to seeing
above all other competitors. I know exactly what "anticipated" means, I know exactly what the award is for - you can stop telling me stuff I already know and have known for years. All that I want to know is peoples reasoning. I've posted my reasons for my choice and I'd like the community to do the same, as I find it odd that one particular bot has a large portion of the vote. So, my friends, please share with me why you were looking forward to seeing your choice so much.

dont criticize others for there choices.

Why can't I? Is being critical offending anyone? If it is, I apologize for any grief or anger I may have caused and I hold no ill feelings towards anyone I am critical of whatsoever. I'm sorry. But do not tell me I can't share my opinion.

Now, please share your thoughts with me on the awards :)

Naryar's Fallen Hero:Nary made it, a top DSL builder, and we know how he normally hates flails. But Iron Storm 5 is a deadly bot, and I was interested to see how the basically DSL version of it was going to compete. It certainly wouldn't be easy to defeat, we all knew that. (Except Avalance, who thought that because he could OotA Arfterburner 2, he waas 100% going to win this.)

Kheper: I was excited when I saw it in Click's showcase and was excited to see it here. Didn't perform to total expectations but it was still cool and innovative to watch.

Hey! Wow! Guys, thanks for all your votes. I am glad you found Haphazard to be entertaining. This tournament, as a whole, was really entertaining!

Man... Now I gotta figure out the prize that I want.  Those wheels are really slick!  And the CC Disc looks pretty awesome, but I am unsure of the damage potential though. Companion cubes probably wont benefit me because I "waste space with style".  :P

Gonna give it some serious thought.

Congrats to all the winners!
