it was picked up through the Clash Cubes thread a few times, but I will repeat it now, Clash Cubes 3 was to be the last in a Trilogy series of tournaments ran by me, it was my decision to end this now after 3 strong tournaments



yes thats what I said, previously in the thread..



but I can now tell you its WRONG!! Clash Cubes will be coming back!!! bigger and better then before as Clash Cubes IV tackles the Lightweight Division, all the above prizes are legal and non overpowered parts you can use in CCIV so pick wisely  ;)

Most Entertaining: Douja Raze. Loved watching it box rush its way to victories

Most Anticipated:I would say SnSnS 3, but I can't so I say Kheper. couldn't wait to see how it did.

Most Innovative: Face Gasher. First ever SnS/Sawbot hybrid. Nobody thought it would do well, but surprised everyone and opened a new door in bot building. (like that klone :O SnS in BBEANS Sawzal)

Most Hated by Fate: Turbulence. Good bot, but just couldn't win in this arena.

Most Entertaining: Postmodern Cubism (I just loved the design and thought it put up some great fights)

that was never an award merely a gimmick becasue people felt like calling as few different robots cute in CC2

and why is SFTW an award ? :P each award carrys a prize pick so why does someone get one for having the worst robot

Most Entertaining - Haphazard 2: if only for the greatest moment of this tourney, the robodyslam.

Most Anticipated - Postmodern Cubism: MikeNCR has always preformed well in DSL tourneys, even if he didn't have the greatest bot. Also, he's an ex-champ of BBEANS and CC2 runner-up. That's a pretty nice track record.

Most Innovative - Kheper: might as well call this the Clickbeetle award. Honourable mention to 123STW.

Most Hated by Fate - Turbulence: the best bot to not win a match. Naryar's Fallen Hero also gets some consideration, but he had one win to Reier's zero.

also whats the thought on the 2 new cube prizes ? I know they arnt radical looking parts that shoot fire or something but I wanted something cube themed and not hold a match changing advantage (it saves space but you still need to build a good robot)

I drew up complete plans for a new arena that was originally intended for CCIV but I was going to use it for my next upcoming tournament instead but who knows, this arena was a bit to controversial for such a high rated tournament I think.

I sense a trend in the votes...


As soon as somebody votes for different bots, there's about 5 people who vote for the exact same thing afterwards.  Then another person votes for something slightly different, and it starts all over.


Also, if somebody mentions a bot, somebody votes for it immediately afterward.


Let's put it to the test.


Most Entertaining: Terminal Force Whiplash Effect  (It's cool how it can be a clamp or a flipper.)


Most Anticipated: HapHazard 2  (It's built like a tank and I really expected it to be near unbeatable in this arena, especially after Heat 1.  Honorable mention to SnSnS 3.)


Most Innovative: Flying Guillotine  (It's the first of its kind and also the first stilt-bot ever in a tournament.)


Hated By Fate: Turbulence  (I've gotta agree with everyone else on this one.  Honorable mentions to The Devil's Vortex and Fallen Hero.)


Also, no one's voted for Kheper for Most Entertaining...  :frown:


Now if my theory is correct, the next person will vote Kheper for Most Entertaining, and the next 5 people will copy my votes almost exactly, with maybe just 1 change.

No, I think that everybody else is forgetting the meaning of "anticipated."

To me, I have absolutely no idea how so many people could get the most excited about an unconventional bot from a builder with absolutely no track record in tournaments that everybody with half a brain knew was going to fail. It makes no sense! If I'm reading down a list of entrants, I want to see what Click is going to build, what Naryar is going to build, what MikeNCR is going to build; the tournament heavyweights per say.

All I want to know is the reasoning for people anticipating FG by such an overwhelming margin.

I dont understand the complexity, there was no problem last time I used that award name... either everyone is getting more critical or I need to make voting pm private next time  :rolleyes:

Naryar's Fallen Hero:Nary made it, a top DSL builder, and we know how he normally hates flails. But Iron Storm 5 is a deadly bot, and I was interested to see how the basically DSL version of it was going to compete. It certainly wouldn't be easy to defeat, we all knew that. (Except Avalance, who thought that because he could OotA Arfterburner 2, he waas 100% going to win this.)

Hey! Wow! Guys, thanks for all your votes. I am glad you found Haphazard to be entertaining. This tournament, as a whole, was really entertaining!

Man... Now I gotta figure out the prize that I want.  Those wheels are really slick!  And the CC Disc looks pretty awesome, but I am unsure of the damage potential though. Companion cubes probably wont benefit me because I "waste space with style".  :P 

Gonna give it some serious thought.

I dont think they are in order at this stage..I work on them when I have the free time, semi final heat 2 and the grand final are still to be added but it can become quite time consuming re-watching all the videos

The whole point of voting is so decisions are not determined by the reasoning of one man.  You have your reasons, other people have theirs.  Though I think the SFTW award would be more appropriate, It even needed a re-run to beat LRA2.

im tempted to come up with a piston design just to pick it, I haven't made my choice and I still need to get back to Reier but I wanted to sort all those I needed to pm prizes together (just part of my self organization :P)

expect prizes in 1 or 2 days (around my work schedule :P)
