BLOODSHEDDING BOTS
« on: January 19, 2015, 09:24:41 PM »

Alright yes I believe it is time I make a tournament.

Rules
  • Ironforge 1.0
  • Realism Standard
  • I was thinking about the Ironforge Middleweight class which is 200kg
  • No one's bot will be entered until you have submitted it and I have accepted it
  • 16 Contestants, no wild cards
  • 1 bots per person, may change later if needed
  • If we do not reach 16 Competitors I will provide Bye-Bots
  • No Custom Components
  • You can use BFE for changing the Chassis but nothing else :) so no out of game editing
  • All in-game glitches are legal BUT HAX MODE
  • No Popups - very open for discussion Popups are allowed as long as the moving parts dont go through any batteries wheels motors etc.
  • Unable to do Clusterbots as I have a 4 way melee at the start
  • 3 Minute Matches
  • Bots can be changed up until the date of the tournament, however nothing major, only minor changes
  • I will restart the match if a robot Havoc's once, however if it happens a second time in the Tournament that robot will be DQ'd
  • I can AI the bots, but if you would like to do so yourself you can.
  • Here is my real entry, not a bye-bot

ARENA

Format
Heats
Qualifying/Elimination
Semi Finals
Preliminary Finals
GRAND FINAL

If None of that made sense I Hope this Helps

If it still doesnt make sense I will try again later in the thread.

Alright everything is open for discussion but the format.

What style of building is this going for? Ironforge standard would be pretty awesome. You may want to limit entries per person for now though, otherwise it's possible only 6 people will be able to enter. You can always open secondary signups if you've not got enough entries.

Interesting. I might enter. One question though: If you're aiming for Ironforge Standard, then why eliminate the realistic rule? (Keep in mind I'm not too familiar with Ironforge.)

I'm not having the Realistic rule because I didn't want to limit people on their bots.
However if you guys reckon that including the realistic rule would be better I would consider it.

Your bot uses custom component forward hinge flippers. What weight are they, what is their power, etc.

I wish.
It's using the DDT burst motor.
It's about 1/3rd up the chassis.

Your flipper is cutting through the batteries, you need to sort that out, but damn that is good.

Why are popups banned then  :dumb)

Usual Standard ruleset indicates the Standard Realism Rules, eg no stacking (like you'd get in Stock) and no moving parts going through anything else (for example the flipper and your batteries, or a spinning blade through it's own motor). What are allowed are parts that could be welded together, like razors being very close on a popup rack (not to say popups should or shouldn't be allowed, just an example).

I've decided to change it to standard.
I hope that's okay and not causing anyone any inconvenience.

He said Standard, so I'm taking that as DSL-S...

What weight class?

Edit: Nevermind. Found it. Might want to put that closer to the top of the list of rules.
