With 48 bots we will get 16 matches with 2 bots, and 16 matches with a bye. So it's not possible that 32 bots get a bye in the first round. Also all of the loosers in the first round will get a bye in the first round of loosers bracket.

Well I didn't get one, so unless a 'sec' here means a couple hours, you'll have to resend it.

Actually, registration officially ended today. If you encountered some unavoidable problem and weren't able to get your bot in on time, that's understandable and I'll still accept your entry. (Plus it would just be cool having three former champions in this tournament.)

But for everyone else, registration is now closed. For real this time. I'll wait a week, finish up with my AI'ing while I give all the late entrants a chance to change entries if they want, and then I'll post pictures of the bots, maybe brackets too, all that cool stuff.

I'm pretty sure everyone who really wanted to be in is in now. If there's any of you who aren't... well, if you have a good excuse I might listen, but otherwise, registration has dragged on too long already, you had plenty of time to get a bot ready, and I don't really want a continuously increasing backlog of bots to AI.

If people want to show what bot they're using for BBEANS, that's not for me to say whether or not it's allowed. Several people already have, in fact... it's no secret that I'm using Heaven's Sawmill or that Sage is using Bumble Bee, for example.

But I'm going to post a splash of all the bots in about a week or so, in the "Brackets and Videos" thread I will create, at which point no one will be allowed to update their entries anymore. So I don't think there's a need for a separate "BBEANS showcase" thread when all the discussion is going to shift to "Brackets and Videos" in about a week anyway.

But more important, since a lot of the matches are probably going to be havok fests, what about restarting conditions because of havok explosions ?

well if your havok changes the outcome of the match once, the match gets a restart then if it happens again your robot forfeits... I'm pretty sure that's right

it's usually pretty obvious who causes it, cause a motor will come off or something and it will cause a havok. we have had a robot forfeit before in BBEANS 3 from havoking.

I sent in a very updated bot to Click. I am very excited. The idea for it came to me in the shower (where I do some of my best thinking). Its not radically new or anything but I feel it is quite powerful and should do well in this tourney. Looking forward to the go ahead to start showing off bots.

The theme even honors an upcoming movie...

Wedges have challenges as AI. If you can get the timing right could be fun. Some of the newer AI routines that check for opponent chassis instead of opponent weapons helps alot.

I stayed within my 1 week update window. If you still are in that window or get permission from Click, send in what you are most proud of.

All right guys, here it is... the long-awaited splash!

No brackets yet, but they're coming. I have 99.9% of the AI'ing done. So the tournament should be starting shortly.

This also means that no more entry changes or updates are being accepted. The bots are locked as they are now, for better or worse.

(Why is Trovaner's bot out of place? 'Cause he wanted to change the name just before I uploaded the splash, and rearranging all the bots from Shock Therapy through The Emancipator just to put Shadow Tyrant in alphabetical order was more work than it would be worth.)

53 bots... all you folks who like to write a paragraph about each bot have a lot of work ahead of you.

And thank god for that. Looking forward to this tournament, and reading what ppl thinks about the bots (if someone takes the time to write about all 53). Makes the time go faster while working night :D
