Nicely said Wings. I also bring something else to attention..... does it really matter? This is a just a stupid tournament for god's sake. I am not saying BBEANS is a strupid tournament, I am saying its just for fun and really does not matter.

Thats probably the last I am going to say on this ordeal.....
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

Hell, that flame war about Cheap Win 3000 (that is not a bumble ball but a crawler) isn't going anywhere... I'm one of the guys that started it, yes, but it becomes pointless.

However, Click is probably going to stop all this with just one post, so i'm done with this.

What is this? The second flame war focused around BBEANS 5?

C'mon guys, this is spiraling waaaaaayyy out of control.

Bumble Bee is a perfectly legal bot under the current rules. It is not cheating in any way shape or form. I built one, and it is mobile enough to navigate cornered arenas and track down opponents. I just like giving Sage a bad time :P

S32, you're taking the whole gay thing way too far. Seriously, calm down. This is an internet forum discussing a game.

I started giving Sage a bad time about it because I thought he'd honestly come up with something much cooler that that. I mean, look at the bots he's built (Mincemeat, Vise, etc.). I was just expecting something like that rather that a bot that damn near anybody here could build.

I would rather see Bumble bee fight and lose, rather than see it voted off the island without a view of its possible glory or defeat.  If we vote it out of the tournament, we are admitting defeat straight up.

If it wins the tournament people, wake up... this is the kind of evolution that makes us better builders.  There are bots that can defeat Bumblebee... just like there are bots that can defeat popups, HSers, and the like.

While, I too would be afraid of facing Bumblebee... I commend Sage for entering something different because he really could have entered just another dominant HSer.

My issue is with the technology, not with Sage. I am not afraid of the bot. I am disappointed about the allowing the style of bot. Had been (in my opinion) clearly banned. That is my point. Doesn't help that the version Sage sent me to review was incapable of controlled movement.

Sage you even said it in your description of Bumble Bee. Won't hurt you unless you try to hurt it. As in can't go out and hurt others because it can't... go. You can stand back and just watch it flair around.

I am sure this will either fade off or Click will declare or show that he AIed the version in the Tournament to track "well enough" an opponent.

Just means this style of bot is now allowed in BBEANS tournaments and people will need to plan for it.

So, all I see is less HS.
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

Was a time System32 that Pop-ups rulled the nest. And before that Pokers had major impact. Designs and styles change over time. That is not the issue. I even built Warmachine to show that Rammers are still relavent in todays world. I am glad Sage is being creative.

Keep an eye out for Caster Armored bottom Bumble Ball Crawlers. There will be impacts from this decision. You may not like the results.

sage im not saying the design is illegal or anything, i dislike stacked HS's just as much cause no thought goes into them.. just put as many weapons as you can on a spinner and your gonna get far in a tournament most the time. it's sad that we are gonna see stacked HS's in most stock tournaments, i prefer watching unique designs.

heavens sawmill is one of my fav's in the tournament because its such a well thought out design... hopefully people see the point I'm trying to make.

I do and deeply appreciate diversity.

Loved Rejected's designs for that reason and love Clickbeetles for that reason.

I have be very good at building HS designs but even in doing so I go for stories, themes, styles.

Well since I built probably the first "Crawlers" (and have 2 or 3 in SC packs) I do know that they can me controlled to attack an immoble opponent and I am all for them. I am however against multi bots in a HW tournament. We are here to see who can build HW, or MW, or LW in tournaments......but BBEANS has always been different so that is the way it is. ANYWAY I see nothing wrong with a "Crawler" type bot as long as it is able to attack an immoble opponent, and move in a more or less straight line.

i think we need some extra rules for multi-bots, in RL robot combat they are actually joined at the start and get separated when the match starts.. so entries like man manu's wouldn't be a possibility but bots like big flips revenge would be as they could have been connected back to back.

if only there was a way to actually build a multi-bot...

IMO, the rules are what they are. If it can 'control' itself then we cannot complain because Sage stayed within the designated parameters. As SC and ACAMS pointed out this is the way the game has and will continue to go.
And I'd like to also factor in new and improved AI.py and Tactics that do/will contribute to the advancement of the game.

.
Input is appreciated. :)
-Arrogance is a quantity devoid of quality...
-As a client once told me "This is my story, and it's sticking to me!"
-Relationships these days are like the 'Arrival' section of the airport: a lot of baggage is being revealed in one place, and not a lot of it is being correlated to its real owners...

That overcomplicates things too much..... just keep it the way it is.....

I will never allow "crawlers" for any of my own tournaments.

I almost quoted ACAMS' post and said NO cause i thought it was S32...hehehe saved from epic fail...

Looking forward to good matches. Props to Sage for wanting to be creative and different. Thank you Clickbeetle for doing the BBEANS tourneys and enduring alot of squabbling as we wait anxiously for the videos to come out.

Yah guys, we have to remember that Clickbeetle isn't forced to do this for us. He does it because he is nice enough to make a small group of people happy. We need to thank him and other tourney hosts because they ask for nothing in return when they do these tournaments. Instead of complaining about 1 Bot in a field of 53 Bots, just think that we are priveleged to have a person willing to take 53 bots, AI nearly all of them, and shoot videos of them for at least a month. Be thankful that there is a tournament for Bumble Bee to be in. Or for Consonant/Vowel, T-800 Terminator, or PiTA 8, and stop complaining about one bot, when the odds are that you are not even going to face it. If anyone actually reads the wiki pages I do, normally the champion only has 8 or 9 battles, and usually it faces one bot at least twice. So most of you who are complaining will probably not even have to fight Bumble Bee.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time
