Damn, my LW uses chassis height BFE.
Could this be allowed within discretion (i.e. you look at the bot and see if it is only being done aesthetically?)
Better than GK since 2009.

Will send my stuff later today as I will be out of the house all of tomorrow and will likely miss signups.

Badnik, if everyone could send early, it would defeat the point...

So? What if I wanted to not miss signups and so sent early. You can't get any special treatment, especially in such a popular tourney.

Well when my realistic bots don't make it instead of some god-awful thing that isn't even IRL realistic (looking at Enigma), don't blame me.

As soon as all you cock monglers stop caring so much about winning and more about the spirit of building an IRL bot, this tournament will be awesome. A bot that will put on a cool show or just looks like it could actually be something that was real is 10x more interesting than all of you with the mentality of "hurr check out this hs I built, so irl it only has 2 sledgehammers and its a lightweight. Not to mention that high tech floating axle and my sweet hinge wedges!" or all of you that enter quasi-nar ai dsl bots. In reality, all IRL comes down to is weapon weight, which was why Urjak raped the heavyweight division and preytors bot was so successful, not how the bot would actually function if this was an actual competition. Not to mention that some just totally ruin cool looking bots with all this emphasis on wedges. Not one of my bots I've built has even used a skirt hinge for wedges even though they could have been a heck of a lot more effective with one and even more frustrating is the cool entries getting beaten by these bots.

Just think about for a second, sure you can win sneaking in your ass ton of weapon weight, but the whole tournament is not nearly as fun.

All but maybe 1 of my losses in this tourney (Hard Drive vs Freezerburn) have been against bots built solely for efficiency (NyXL, Toriodore, 8Rec).

hey freezes, what about putting a strict weapon weight/number limit for each weightclass/bot type in the rules and calling it fair.

no. There is already a "no disproportionate weapon sizes" rule, it would only restrict us more. Freez is cracking down now, it should be more IRL this time/

I could see that working with exceptions for spikes/etc for decoration.

Or for self-righting purposes. My proposed LW entry has some of that. =D As did Highlander last time around. Basically if weapons are being used for non-offensive purposes, they should be alright.

I might do a bot for this:
LW: Hammer Metal -- A SS with 2 DSL 44kg Hammers.

And there I thought 60kg of weapons on a LW IRL-ish HS were pushing it. :laughing

No worries though. It's probably going to fail soon.

I agree with Scrap as well.  It should be about entering cool bots for the fun of it... however I understand it's tempting to try to win, since you'll only get 1 fight if you enter a bot that can't fight.  Your bot has to be GOOD to see it in action more than once.  Plus nobody likes to lose,  no matter how much you tell yourself it's not about winning.

Perhaps switching to a round robin format, or at least double elimination, would help reduce some of that 'competitive urge' since you would be guaranteed more fights even with a non-competitive robot.  Don't do it for this tournament obviously, being so close to signups, but it's an idea for future IRL tournaments.

I thought NyXL was one of the more realistic and exciting bots.  Apparently you haven't seen .  (2 Judge bursts was maybe a little overkill for the flipper though.)

In other news, I got my SHW pretty much ready.  Just need to make a custom smart zone because using 'range' isn't cutting it against some opponents.
