I genuinely cannot believe some of you are trying to argue his way out of such a blatant, tournament-ruining **** up with such awful excuses.

You're right. It is just a game. There are no real stakes, and nobody is entitled to a rematch or re-do. What's done is done.

However, having such awful due diligence and totally screwing over competitors the way you have does reflect badly upon you and your ability to host tournaments, and we are within our rights to call it out, and others are well within their rights to refuse to enter your tournaments in the future if you're going to host them so poorly. I for one was interested in entering this series in the future but this incident, combined with the quite pathetic reaction means I never will, and there are probably many others who, upon seeing this, will have the same reaction. We're within our rights to, at bare minimum, point that out so others don't make the same mistake of joining in the future.

Unless, that is, you're at all willing to take some actual responsibility instead of sh**-talking us in the comments, thinking we won't notice, any time soon?

I can see where badnik is coming from.  It wasn't really clear that this would be as heavily edited as it is.  It would be not as bad if it had been stated earlier.
I didn't sign up for it but I feel the salt non the less.

I can see the intention behind it though and i must say apart from some minor stuff the editing is quite good

Okay. To set things straight, I'm about to record the Heat F battles that Boomslang was in again. The battles will go up as a side competition. Hopefully, assuming my internet likes me, it should go up later today.

Boomslang will be its purest, unedited version so it will be fighting at full strength, starting with the first round battle against Sypder. I hope this makes up for the errors that were made. I had no intention of these mistakes happening and I'll make sure they don't happen again in the future.

Pathetic reaction? I can't control what fans of the show say, but my reaction has been as follows: Investigate what went wrong, explain what went wrong, apologise on multiple occasions, and upload a rematch with the corrected robot.

Please, tell me how my reaction was pathetic? What would you do in this situation? Or are you just taking the reactions of fans and putting that on me as the creator?

The fans have a right to criticise the backlash, because it's utterly mad! The overreaction has been crazy. It could have been settled with a PM and an apology from me, but the roboteer in question chose instead to come onto this forum and lie about my intentions. Now all his chums - including yourself - have jumped on the drama bandwagon and built a minor mistake into the 2016 robot holocaust.

Calm down. It was a mistake that I've apologised and made amends for. It was never going to be perfect.

Righto, I think everything that was needed to be said has been said and everything that had needed to be done/acted upon by AHOG has been done. I'll be monitoring this thread closely for any further sights of flame war baiting or anything like that and, hopefully, an incident like this does not occur again.

To be fair it probably was a big mistake. AHOG obviously didn't know how seriously we take the integrity of our bots here, and short of a complete redo of the heat I think he handled it alright. The observerbot is still a pile of sh** tho :P

Since this is my series and my thread, I feel that I can address that one thing you said as a last word:

I, AHOG, am the creator, and it is me who decides whether my project is serious. Not you. GTMers were allowed to enter because I thought you might enjoy it. You can't expect to control how serious my project is, though. A guest does not come into a household and demand what colour the walls in the bathroom should be. You're being possessive of the game because you think you have more right to what it produces than anybody else. The level of arrogance I've witnessed here has stunned me, and to tell ME, the person who created this project, how serious it should be taken, is just plain rudeness and displays a deep self-entitlement.

Okay, now I'm done. If anybody has any further issues, could we take it to PMs?

The handling of the situation is adequate for what the series is, however this won't be considered a GTM personal tournament as it doesn't fully follow regulations. In effect, you came into our house with a game of Cluedo trying to play your own house rules and we play standard.

Just to make clear I have no issues with Banter Wars and its great that many people enjoy it, but please don't be led into thinking any of us do this as more than a hobby. Perhaps it's just a difference in the way GTM is compared to other social boards.

Thank you for your efforts in resolving this ahog, and apologies for my reaction. I'm sure you can understand the situation.
