Venko's showcase
« on: February 06, 2013, 12:26:59 PM »
I miss venko's showcase. :P
Miss no more...

Yo, 'sup! Greetings to the old pals, old vets and the new users. Mr. AwesumSauce (with a help from 090901, I think) found me in Skype, and since there is a interest on my old work in RA2, I made this rar containing almost all pics I uploaded back then ('cos my showcase was deleted (reason unknown), and I accidently delete my pics in my imageshack account) :

http://www.2shared.com/file/2Q1qrY2J/my_uploaded_picz.html

Although I really want to come back and build bots, I'm busy a lot with my real life stuff (like most of the vets that left), so I'm not planning a comeback. But since, I'll permanently leave the RA2 comunity, there is no point of hiding my secret stuff anymore (yeah, I had the bad habit of not showing my best stuff (both effective and art bots)). So, I may think of releasing a rar with all (this means a lot) my bot files (like the beetle bros do), if I have some spare time. If this happens, you will find very very interesting and useful stuff there. I also gave Mr. AwesumSauce some rars to check for a "useful stuff from the past". That's pretty all for now. See ya.

yo venko, if youre reading this i plan on releasing all the other pics vids and whatnot you sent to me on the 18th, being ra2's 10th anniversary and all.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

I think we found something similar to the uberstacking you used to do (Hax Mode)
No, I anathematize this "HAX MODE", (not to mention it's useless in a very small chassis) all that I stacked back then is legally possible to achieve, and here is the "Venko's uber stack tutorial" :
1. Use a uber resolution (above 1280x1024);
2. Use a slow mouse sensitivity;
3. Use the "uber zoom bug" : go to the chassis build tab in the bot building screen, zoom in the bot at maximum, then switch to the components tab, very carefully move the mouse (THE MOUSE MUST NOT PASS THRU THE AREA OF THE 3D BOT PREVIEW, or the uber zoom will disappear and you will need to start again) to the components, select one, carefully move (THE MOUSE MUST NOT PASS THRU THE AREA OF THE 3D BOT PREVIEW, or the uber zoom will disappear and you will need to start again) to the attach button, then press it and then attach it where you want to (DON'T ROTATE THE BOT, or the uber zoom will disappear and you will need to start again), but the bot will stay in ultra zoom mode for more precise placing. Repeat for the next component;
4. When trying to apply the component, rotate, rotate and again rotate the bot until it's done (sometimes may take hours).
Example :

Reposting my lifting tutorial :
I was interested how much weight can "lift" any of the motors, so I decided to build one special bot and test it. Here is what I found, but it needs more research :
(those are approximate values in kilograms)
blue snapper :        ~ max 160 kg
snapper2 :        ~ max 290 kg
DDT :            ~ max 340 kg
rupt glitched DDT :    ~ max 520 kg
302 servo :        ~ max 85 kg
502 servo :        ~ max 85 kg
702 servo :        ~ max 85 kg
60 cm piston :        ~ max 70 kg
HP z-tek :        ~ max 150 kg

I found a old BotM candidate bot of mine that is not included in the RAR :

I think the division of SHW to SHW and UHW is stupid.

RA2 pulls me back so strong, that I don't even noticed that I ran it and came with this yesterday :

The dilemma here is : to put it under 125 should I :
1. Downgrade from DSA to plastic; (what to do with that much free weight then?)
2. Remove 1 pinky; (underpowering it?)
3. Replace the 140 cm saw with a 120 saw to fit the limiti. (best loose of 2 kilos in my opinion)
Component placement order : 2 motors, free axle (only rotated at 45 can fit, 'cos the axle collision box is a 45 rotated square), MB, axle loading glitch to remove the axle from the free axel, then while is missing place the two batts add the wheels and add the saw, unglitch. Since the bot have all around attack and defence, it's a very good fast rammer, only the AW hammers will have a theoretical chance. The only downside is : the steering "on place (when not moving)" is kinda buggy, due to a new unknown bug, caused when the driving motors axles are inside a saw.

Thanks for the warm welcome, bye for now.

Happy 10th anniversary everyone!
All these are made after Mr. AwesumSauce contacted me and re inspired me into the RA2.
You all know, that I always "seek the unique" in the bot building.
This led me to my first thematic team ever :

I'm working on their skins.
Not the most effective bots in the world, but something new.
They manage to beat some weak bots in SC3.
While building these, some wild bugs appeared :

The buggy crate inspired me to build this one :

Some random Rammer/Sit&Spinner, that use his body as a weapon :

This one was supposed to be an effective stock omnidirectional bot, for a battle royal matches, also an anti cluster-bots design.
v2 and v3 have a VERY good wedges, but they need to face the opponents properly.

Some experiments with the famous Anti-pacman bot :

Just playin' with the AW-UFO :

Somehow the AW-UFO is still the best version.
So, comment what You think about all these bots.
Brought to You from the "Venko's deepest mystical hard disks"
