I spent some time checking the older pages in this showcase. Hahah, I could remember what was up next without seeing it again... Some of you called me a cheater at first but minutes later you all received me so warmly...

I ended up building another bot because I was feeling so well...

Here you've got the pictures, but missing text details - no time left today. Come back tomorrow to see if I have something else to say. :gawe:

Ok - more info now. Armor is plastic and one of the weapon motors was not HP. The bot was originally supposed to be lightweight, hence these two characteristics. It is incredibly unstable. On the splash background battle, my bot won inverted. I was lucky it was so unstable, because for this, it wouldn't stop moving and evading getting counted out. Fury was smashing itself against my bot all the time, eventually getting destroyed with K4's spikes.

Looks very good, in my view. Looks a bit low on battery power for my liking, though.

Looks awesome, but there should be a way to make it invertible. You'll find the setup in time (most likely you won't attach your lower motor directly to the snapper). XD
Clash Cubes 1 - Grey Matter (Runner-Up)
King of Karnage - Sideshow Freak (Runner-Up, Best Engineered)
Rust In Pieces - Paper Cut 3 (Grand Champion, Most Dangerous Bot)
Wheely Tag Tournament - Ion Thruster (Grand Champion, along with Ounces' DiSemboweLment)
UK vs USA - Dark Striker (Grand Champion)
Rust In Pieces 2 - Claymore (Runner-Up, Favourite Bot)
BBEANS 6 - Infection 4 (Runner-Up)
RA2 Team Championships - Serious Business, Skeksis (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, and Badnik)
RA2 Team Championships 2 - The Other Stig (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, Badnik, 090901, and R1885)
Replica Wars 3 - Abaddon (Runner-Up, Luckiest Bot)
BroBots - wheebot & yaybot (Runner-Up)
Robo Zone 2 - Dipper (4th place, Survival Champion, & Best Axle Bot)
ARBBC - The Covenant (3rd place, BW Rumble Winner, Most Feared BW)

I know and it's sad, but I couldn't figure out a way to make it invertible. I'll try again today.
*looking at your sig* Stock 1.4?

I did not look at my bot's energy bar until you posted this. :O
Too much time left for the remaining energy... I'm forced to rebuild now :P

I can't believe I didn't think of this XD. Still, where will the battery go then? :P
Today I woke up feeling I had missed things out when planning the bot's building yesterday. Now I know why.

Edit: Pwnator actually gave me an idea. I rebuilt K.Y.A.R.A IV modifying the III version's chassis and now it is incredibly stable and has enough battery power. But now it drives very slowly (no idea why) and it's not invertible yet.

And you can't force a habit away. If you want realistic stock building back, do it on your own.

Please don't make posts like that, Spark.

Anyway, it's been a year since I joined GTM.

Whenever my laptop arrives I'm most probably going to have a busy day and might not be able to do this but, what would you think if I rebuilt every single bot I've left behind, by following all of your advice that I should consider good?

Of course there are exceptions (like that new year's bot), but I once had this idea of turning every bot I have into a better version. I have lost most of them, but I can take pictures and rebuild from scratch (Who else would replicate his own bots anyway?) while having your advices written down in a paper.

If that laptop is able to run RA2 of course.

Any opinions on this?

Nope, I'm talking about my bots.

Well, Sparks' post is gone, so you shouldn't care about that anyway.

And read the whole post before commenting, if you haven't. :P

DP...

I suppose RA2 runs on 64bit computers, right?
And Firefox too, right?

My laptop arrived today and it's very good from what I've seen at the moment.

^ Thanks since yesterday morning :P ^

Well, here comes my latest bot. It was a random thing I was making with my everlasting idea of building LW HS.
Things went south again and it turned out as a Middleweight. So I decided to make something less common for me - I swapped to irons, rearranged the weapons, and added some frontal armor.

But then it was very close to the weight limit and fought quite well - two things I wasn't expecting at all :O
And by the sight of things, this might very well be my Box of Nightmares entry.

Screenshots:

Some more info:
  • DSA armor.
  • Underpowered, so what? I like it as it is :P
  • Built similarly to Loxosceles Laeta II, but replacing internal T-connectors with 2cm extenders to reduce weight (which was not needed in the final result). This change also allowed the placement of plows.
  • For those who can't seem to spot it, there are two plows forming a C shape.

I might make a skin for it later.

Irons are fine.  It just depends on whether you want to have more reach or protection.

Also, with the current damage theory apparently debunked, it may turn out that irons are technically better than maces due to piercing/concussion differences.

Are you sure you can't replace those two angle connectors with two 20 cm extenders and save 4 kgs?  That would get you enough weight to add a random razor somewhere.

Also, a Nifty is actually just barely enough power for that.  All spin motors drain 100 power and the Nifty supplies 400.  It won't last long but it will be at full power for a while.
