Other 2 drive motors are on 20cms on the wedge snappers. Will lose those 20cms, maybe a black, and that extra razor that's doing nothing but using that SII AP and taking up weight, if I rebuild the chassis.

Why not just rotate the extender 180 degrees so the DDTs are further back?

Not going to help the HPZ's, though I guess I could move them to the other snappers.

That would have put the whole DDT arrangement out the back of the chassis and imo it would have upset the weight distro; fortunately, 090901's suggestion worked, once I re-eFFE'd the drive:

Yeah the axis of the snapper arm relative to the axis of the DDT might have something to do with the rupting. Try out other setups for your DDTs.

I've yet to have luck with other setups but I'll keep trying. Anyway, new bot, called 'Armoured Spaceship'.

Was goofing around and ended up with this bot's chassis. Then I thought, what can I make with this, and decided on a MW popup. Then, when I wanted to add more stuff, a cruiserweight. Then there was still more I wanted to add, so I've ended up with a HW:

As well as being good looking, it also is a bone fide good fighter, with excellent wedges. Not very good against HS, though unsurprisingly, but the chassis wouldn't go any shallower.

Also made a version with rubbers, but I haven't tested it in battle yet:

Exactly the same stats except 20kg less ballast and 20kg more in wheels.

Thoughts? The interior is relatively impractical because of the chassis, hence the pink and ballast, and at the same time I don't particularly want to put casters on it because looks. Maybe I'll try angled ramplates.

I've definitely seen inverted VS but not sure if there's been an inverted chained VS made before - please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's damaging and stable, but I wanted to get some people's thoughts before I rebuilt it.

Currently what I'm thinking of doing is:

- Change wedge extenders to 140cm square to save weight.
- Make the chassis more narrow so all of it can have caster protection, and stack the blacks.
- Lengthen the chassis so HPZ's can be placed further apart, so in turn the weapons can be closer together a la Heaven's Sawmill.
- If possible, make the bot's profile less steep.
- Adding the missing 4 irons with saved weight.
- If there's weight for it - unlikely - investigating 4WD or bottom protection.

With this on the brain, I updated my BRITBONGS entry (if 09 lets me). Before it had been a serious VS, albiet one from 2011. Now it's a bit more daft.

They don't fall off and they are damaging. Just got terrible terrible normals. :)

It's mostly neat but a bit on the left is 1 click out so they all are up that side. I just placed them all with the max zoom in so I could be really precise

You don't need to pack the casters that tightly. You could jam 5 evenly spaced casters per row and it would still be well protected. That would allot one more caster on your currently top row and 2 more casters above it.

Also, maybe use taller casters to block the motors? They're in need of more protection than the top of your chassis, since the bottom will be absorbing the hits.

MW reminds me of VB's Funeral Gust, probably would be better off it was built like Funeral Gust to where it doesn't have to self right at the start of the match since I don't think you are really gaining much by doing so.
