So do I. Being a moderator does not give you the right to act like a massive tool.

And this is EXACTLY why The Ounce left. I've asked him to come back but he refused because of the moderator-abuse.

All I'm gonna say is for everyone to make sure they check dates on things before they post, and check if they really want to bring something up from so far back, and also that people shouldn't start some argument here, over just a bump.
Badnik, Jonzu, Alex etc, may I suggest writing an open letter to discuss how you feel rather than carrying on spamming this thread and making it a bigger thing than it needs to be.

Alright, nobody's really got a correct argument here.

It's not mod-abuse or moderators acting like tools, you're all looking silly by turning on them.
Yes, it's a little misguided, but it's not abuse. Jesus wept, the exaggeration in that term is incredible.

In terms of the bumping, I think the general consensus is that it's not needed.

Let's flip it the other way round.
Say that LDog  posted a question topic in general discussion asking how to edit AI bots, nobody would have turned to him and said 'should have posted in an existing thread from 2006'.

Never before have I seen a forum where digging up 7 year old topics was acceptable.

Is it a bandwidth issue? If there's a legitimate reason, then say so, instead of just screaming 'YOU'RE WRONG WARN THEM'.

This and Jet-speed's showcase were on the last page when arranging topics by replies, these bumps seem like they were done on purpose to cause issues. Why not post in Re-stocked topic? it's last post was last year so at least it's not that old...

So I can't post my opinion anymore huh?

It has been stated countless times over the last 3 years to not post what you posted, so I would think you would have known by now not to post that. Obviously LDogmasher doesn't care if he bumps or not so having like 5 people post "STOP BUMPING PLS LDOGMASER" doesn't makes a difference and makes their more sh** posts to be cleaned up.

We would complain, but who are the superiors more likely to side with? A wiki owner, his butt-buddy (me) and a guy with less reputation than compared to days he has spent on the website, or someone who's been in power and well known for several years? To anyone else on this forum, I'm just a good for nothing DSL Mafia crap builder who insults the veterans and most likely an alt of GF93 or Sparkey. My opinions would not hold against the might of Naryar, Kill and other well known members.

Also, Mazakari, if a post has been up on the forum for that long, chances are it was solved a long time ago. Even if you want to know the current progress on a mod, most of the time you would PM the guy responsible, not necrobump a bajillion times. It's been that way on all the other forums I've been on in the past 5 years.

Now, before I get muted, downrepped and probably have this post vandalized with massive red text and a spoiler, I'd like to conclude it's not a problem with the moderators that we have. These people have the power to do good things for this website, but they can be loose cannons some times, if you know what I mean. Kill may not have meant to post with those intentions, but it certainly does not improve their image.

Kill explained it very well, with clarity, emphasis and effectiveness. But still people are still circlejerking and feeling offended, I'm going to hit the point again.

Hint : Yes, most of LDogMasher's posts are not very useful. Not a reason to gang up on him every time he does.

Besides, I personally think there's no harm done in bumping. all of these posts Ldogmasher did were off-topic, but you guys are adding to the off-topic and flamebait.

There seems to be some belief here, particularly above newbies, that bumping is a great evil and shall not be done. It must be killed off because it is a weak and false belief.

I clearly said to stop the bump whacking, then one damn post afterwards Badnik completely ignores moderator warning and does it anyway. The warn is perfectly justified, it is not power abuse, moderators being tools or loose cannons.

If Ldogmasher's posting becomes out of control then we will act. No, he is not even as annoying as sparkey and lra2 were in their first months because he's completely harmless.

If you want us to act, then call us and we will judge the action necessary. Stop trying to take the law into your own hands, because : 1-bumping is NOT an offense, 2-we know the law much better than you do, 3-we know how to deal with these situations.

I know I'm going to get muted and become public enemy #1 after this post

If there are any problems with the staff, I am the one that people should be talking to. As such, you are better off PMing me if you believe a member of the staff has overstepped their bounds (I try to address all concerns as fairly as possible). It wouldn't be the first time that someone within the staff has lost privileges for abusing their powers. That said, I don't believe Kill overreacted in this situation.
