a general rule of thumb to not getting "cyberbullied" or whatever is to not act like a total retard.

i mean notice how someone like kidkrusher is flamed all the time, and is arguably one of the most idiotic members on the site. then you have people like scrap clickbeetle who noone even DARES to insult.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Also delete the junkyard.
There are certainly some days that I've considering doing this. Personally, I don't think it helps the rest of the forum but it is one of the more popular sections at GTM.

I just did a search for the f-word and it was everywhere.
I used to search regularly, but stopped when I retired.
I get emails regularly from people reporting posts, but never do anything as I am retired.
That's actually pretty resourceful of you. I did a quick little automated clean up but I'll probably do it your way in the future. Kossokei is right that I'm not into doing tedious things unless I see it but I'll try to do my part. I've been doing too much in the background and not enough in the foreground for everyone else to see (lead by example).

That is not to say that members should depend on the staff to do everything. You as members have quite a bit of control of how things are run around here. You should be trying to limit your use of foul language and negative behaviors. You can also hit the report button when you see something that you consider questionable. PMs to staff members are fine too but please limit yourself to only doing it when it is a private matter.

The rest of the staff is also responsible for doing their part in making GTM a better place for everyone. It is important that they lead by example and manage what they can. The fact that we don't have very many active staff members is definitely a problem but I'm not going to promote anyone unless I see them stepping up and staying out of trouble. This is yet another reason why people should restrain themselves and try to help make GTM more fun for everyone else (by not overloading the staff with dumb things like foul language edits/punishments).[/quote]

Foul language should have a ZERO tolerance in the main forum!
OFT
I agree all the way.

Trov/ACAMS, is there not a filter plugin you could use for censoring/removing profanities? Or would they filter the entire forum including the Junkyard?

Because some people (like me) don't want to see the f-word being posted all the time without punishments.

From what I can gather, Jamin's trying to say why should there be punishments.
But I kind've understand from the Admin team perspective, as any kid can access this site, then it's just 2 minutes before angry parents end up all over the site, and it does make the place look nicer/kinder/cleaner from an outside perspective.

Foul language and arguing doesn't make people meaner.

also, the claim that the forum is more hostile is nonsense. Bullying is actually a very rare occurence if you are a normal newbie, and we try to keep it down.

The only people who are bullied are the n00bs who post BS and generally make themselves look like complete retards.

also people who post in playground expecting a friendly welcome, but it's Playground. It is above good and evil. You can leave it if you don't like it.

chatterbox... sometimes, but we need a stricter set of rules for it.

We do need a good rule system, though.

Wow, I actually get mentioned on something other than my 12 word RA2Wiki page? Its a miracle, maybe if you took a second to read the text under my profile picture, you'll see why FOUL LANGUAGE REMOVED, USER WARNED what anyone else has to say about me. Understood?

The playground is only good or evil if you make it to be that way. I don't take the playground seriously, I don't believe it's evil and I don't believe it's good either. So my presence on playground is as neutral as what I make of it. simple as that.

I agree with CC, This place has gotten way more bullies ever since ACAMS left.
There also wasn't uncensored swearing when ACAMS was here. (at least outside the playground)

Yes there was, individual users have always had control over the censoring of naughty words.

It's incredibly hard to take you seriously when you smiley spam the end of your rant.

This is fact.

Why the hell are "profanities" even a problem to begin with?

Profanity laced webpages are automatically removed from search engine results, and in theory it would be nice if this community could grow a little now and then instead of fizzle out.

Abbreviations do not make foul language OK. Ironic that you've posted it in this thread. Also, your tough-guy attitude will bring you nothing but trouble. I suggest you drop it.

For a while I was one of the toughest staff members on the forum, but I don't have the time or the energy to do what I used to do anymore. I can only take care of the things I see in passing nowadays. It's pretty easy for something to slip through the cracks.

Tough guy attitude huh? Like I said, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT ME I walk alone, and if you can't get that through your thick skull, I'll have to beat it into it.

Uh... you're on a forum with its services paid by someone else. And that person assigned moderating duties to some other people. And they're tasked to clean up the crap and prevent fights from occurring in general.

So yeah, you have to care about what the others say about you.

There are no bullying on this forum, just repeated offenders in stupidity.  They just draw a big target sign on their chest.

Do you know what happens in other forums?  Those so call "victims" who think they can do whatever they want would have already gotten perma-banned for starting trash over and over.
