While I prefer it without the sidebar, I'd have no qualms about it staying.

To be honest, I really don't like it. Defeats the purpose of the front page, and gets in the way of the posting area.

I really like having the uploaders right here in the forum sections.

For another idea, I think that there should be a link to the tutorials section in the box, like "Other" or "For More Tutorials..." or something like that.

i have an idea but I'm not sure if it would work.

What I'm thinking is to have it so if you click the minimize button it doesn't only fold it up but to the left as well so that the viewing space is enlarged.

Understand what i mean?

I think it's quite a good idea, personally. I guess it would save people some time in the long run. And you can minimize it if you don't like the links at the side.

actually this may be rather useful
i've often had to go back to the homepage for these things
now just having it minimized exept when i need it is definitley [reallybadsinging]THE BEEEEEEEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!![/reallybadsinging]
