Help me keep GTM site up (PAID TILL 3/19)

Yeah would you consider giving someone reputable on here the same level of access as Trov? It feels like Trov is AWOL.

Adding onto this, I'm kinda confused why when the topic of Admin came up with this whole hosting thing that nobody even suggested Kill for it as he's been one of the longest serving people on staff and basically is pseudo-admin at this point in time. Seems to make a lot more sense than just giving someone who haven't worked on the forum staff at all (Such as AS, apanx, and myself based on the names thrown around in this thread)

To be fair, hosting the site and being the admin are separate tasks with some overlap. Until this post. People have been talking solving the hosting. At least I hope so.

I've been trying to remind a few of the people I've talked in private with about this. I am more than willing to help with day to day administration. What I lack, however, is experience with the coding side. I dabbled with a little html in high school, but that was close to a decade ago.

Exactly. Kill is an excellent moderator, however Apanx has more than enough technical knowledge to run the backend of GTM that normal users don't see, and that backend is only accessible through the admin role


This is of course assuming that Apanx would want to take the role.

At least now sine the bill is paid for the next 2 years we have a good amount of time as a community to come up with a plan then for the future instead of trying to rush it like everybody just was trying to do.

imagine if we used those 2 years to form an actual plan for forum hosting 

$190 for another 2 years; who tf is up for it. we got about 21 days left according to the clock.


ps: we actually had a few ideas on how to pay for hosting. kill's main idea was to start a donation pool to collect hosting funds, but I really don't see that working outside of maybe knocking off a few dollars off the total cost.

If we have people who can pay the fees and people to administrate, let them fill their respective roles. It looks like supporting the site can be done by one or more volunteers. In terms of running everything, that's a different discussion - ACAMS is only transferring the financial obligations. But we've definitely had lots of comments on appointing new administrators in the past, so if that's something to work on alongside deferring the hosting fee I think it's a good time. I'm hoping it can be a decision between ACAMS, Trov, and whomever pays the bills (after they've been chosen), supported by the community. Let's sort out the payments first.
