Even though I have junkyard/playground stuff blocked I do like that it gives miscreants a different place to goof off and not clutter up the main boards with crap. As far as the "spill over" effect, if the playground was closed people would find different areas on the internet to stir each other up and bring it over here (farcebook, yootube, etc etc) I think that's inevitable really.  We just need to keep the moderation team strong and mature to combat it on the main boards.

However, if it is taking too much effort to moderate the playground, by all means nuke it.  Really all depends on manpower and ambition in that case.

The arcade lost its charm for me when Serge proved that it could be easily hacked.

The Music player lost its charm for me when it took several minutes to upload a song... and it's totally unversatile.  I can't play a genre or specify anything really... so its a mix of good/crap.

The calendar seems useless really.

I'm more or less trying to figure out what can be removed to make room for new features. It is kind of pointless of maintaining things that aren't used and the time is better spent creating new features. I've been aware of the image gallery broken ever since the wiki's update but I was trying to gauge its use by the number of complaints that I got (absolutely none).

As far as other issues go, the profile pictures haven't shown up on the wiki since the update but nobody has said anything about this (although, I plan to fix it when I have time).

Junkyard accounts for a majority of the posts on GTM so I don't plan to remove it entirely. Its just Playground that is causing issues ATM. Just to clarify, I haven't instated any new rules for this section but I have started enforcing the old ones.

I think part of that issue might be members like Noodle, who are going to spam it regardless.

You guys know that if we loose the Playground, at least half of GTM's members will disappear, right?
Impossible.
How so?
Max. few members will leave, because Playground is so useless. We're here to post RA2 related stuff, not sh**.
You realize that 80% of the older members don't even play RA2 anymore, right?
im just waiting for meganerdbomb to come along and kick things into gear.

But still, a lot of us have creator's-block, or at least, imply it.
so youve had builders block for the past 5 months?
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Builders block is just an excuse, why not do something else with the game instead of being children in playground? Mod/skin an arena, create an AI pack, host a tournament, create some components, make a tutorial...be useful..

I've been building AW's the past 3+ years, still no builders block, I have a number of AI packs I'm working on and I'm also going to host a tournament soon. Surely you guys can do something more then just screwing around in playground.

I would just spilt the Junkyard group membership into 2. One for Playground and one for Chatterbox and Politics.

By this he means he never learned to AI  :dumb)

Yeah it's not like DSL isn't just putting weapons on the same 2x2 chassis.........

I think this is a good idea, if we split Playground off to itself and defaulted everyone to non-members, then anyone that wants to be there can, rather than other people like me who like Chatterbox but don't really like the whole Playground thing. Also if this happened, Off-Topic Discussiom could be removed since Chatterbox and OTD would serve the same purpose.

I accidentally cleared Chatterbox instead of Off-Topic Discussion but I'll restore if if people want get specific topics transfered over (I personally prefer that you start new ones but I'll do it if I have to).

That is just it ..... there are none .... if you banned HA for posting penis in Playground, then I need to be banned for posting female genitals. (I am not a foggot like him and Noodle!)

I can imagine there will be some requests of General Chatter Thread to be restored and transferred. Personally I don't mind starting a new one, but yeah.

After looking through most of the chatterbox threads in the trash bin, I'm surprised that we had it to begin with. Many of the topics were posted in the wrong section and the ones that did fit the criteria of the board could have easily been put into the Off Topic Discussion board. I'm in the process of moving the more popular/meaningful threads so if a thread that you want to keep is missing, let me know ASAP.

Ugh... I've made so many "good" threads to chatterbox but I can't simply remember them. D:

The only worthwhile one I can think of would be GTM land.

Actually, I would say that is more down to the fact the most of the Chatterbox threads were made before Off Topic Discussion was even made (I think it was made late August last year because Ianh suggested it due to the fact that he wanted on Off Topic Board that could be posted in by people who deigned not to see Junkyard).
Yes that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense.

I've restored Chatterbox for now... If you can't find a topic that was previously there, be sure to look for it in Off Topic Discussion and Playground.
