Make sure you put the "nudge" on the panels so the bot is accurate. :)

I will, I will don't worry. ;)

I finally bothered to upload this video.

No real bot progress besides I ordered some parts for the flipper bot and I found a driver for DoorStop for FI 2011.

I don't want to give everything away about the bot till it competes at the Franklin Cup.

I felt like posting a size comparison between my 12 and 30lb bots

Bot Update

Phoenix: 30lb flipper, about 1/2 way done, and has a larger ram than Explosion. It still needs to be wired and pneumatics need to be connected.

DoorStop: I've build a new 1/8" thick chromoly plow as an alternate weapon instead of the wedge. (Its kinda like Ice Cubes weapon)

Flipper looks very nicely laid out. If Doorstop had a drum weapon, I would love it even more. =D

That was the original plan... Until I came to the realization that i'm not that great of a machinist and probably wouldn't get the drum balanced. So the drum is on hold until I improve my skills or pay Whyachi to do it.

Flipper looking great, what are you going to be using as armour?

Wary of how much a lack of buffer tank will effect it though :/

1/16" lexan on the bottom, 1/16" Ti for outer shell and 1/8" chromoly rear plow

Wary of how much a lack of buffer tank will effect it though :/

My system only gets 12 shots without a buffer tank. If I add one more air will be needed to pressurize the system which will take away from the total shots I have which is already very low. Buffer tanks are typically only needed to make up for a "low flowing" component in a system such as after a regulator. As of now it's better not to have a buffer tank.

Well, a buffer and smaller gas bottle could infact get you more flips. For example, Kronic has 2 gas bottles and no buffers, but IA6 has 1 gas bottle and two buffers. Iron Awe gets a lot more flips, and is more powerful due to having space to allow expansion, whereas in Kronic, liquid gets through the system and into the ram, wasting a lot of gas.

I never though of gas expansion when designing my flipper. :P

Unfortunately I took Sage's advice and designed my chassis around my components and there isn't any room for a buffer tank without a complete rebuild and redesign of the chassis so the buffer tank may come in a future rebuild if my current system doesn't work great.

How big is your gas bottle? 600ml?
