We've had ideas regarding building an axe, still a long way off though

Nice- which weight division?

And as for Crushers...if I do ever get into building, I might, with the sufficient experience, try building something akin to Storm or Draven- IE. A vertical crusher on a liftable arm.

hey is you order something from shapeways can i tag along on the order? i need like 4 wheels and i cant justify the postage.

not judging, i wondered if you had a way to build one for £120
ah yes 101, costing about a grand to build

yeah that anoys me, "it only cos £1.01 to build" yes, only if you have bourght all the parts for a robot beforehand.

So can we, but machining isn't the same as getting something printed from a CAD model

as far as i know, its a kind of nylon (22?) that its made of, not abs. its pretty good stuff, at 3mm thick spinners barely scratch it, mind you its mainly used for frames so its a lot thinner, tends to shatter.
none of my current ants are 3d printed, but i do have a new one that is, ill get some pics of the frame if you like?

$24 + p&p for the shell, has no armour though.

hey peoples of the internet, just got back from roaming robots at portsmouth.

REPORT:
well, when i got there i did nothing for a bit as i was still recovering from the early morning (and the bolognase on toast) so i just checked everything was still working and had a bit of a sit down, than after i got my robot through tech check, i had to help out henry hall get through with his fw, Bulldozer i.e. adding a powerlight and fixing the lipo in place. then me and Jonny went and helped fix steel avenger, the main problems were it not failsafing and the mixing was dead weird, thats why it seemed a bit out of controll in the arena.
the first couple of fights for murhpy's law were....... interesting....... first fight the rx died and so i just stopped dead, i drove into the arena and just shut down. the second fight was not much better, one of the cells in my battery got tired of living and broke so once again i lost power after i had driven into the arena

the second show was slighly better with both my fights being under 20 seconds long, being OOTA'd both times but on different sides of the arena, i think matilda did it the first time and......SOMEONE who will remain nameless (hint: his username ryhmes with "shwertigo") chucked me out the second

pretty good i think (came second in the antweight challange)

i replaced one the dead cell, cycled the pack and its fine.
yes his robot is called shwexplosion, a passive little bot that isn't really competitive and is just a bit of fun really.
