Ideally, the hammer should be a fair bit longer, and the other end should be an extremely sharp spike. =D

I'm liking the look of the weapon, as well. What can it lift?

You've trimmed down the chassis, haven't you? Now add Shiny Hubs. :gawe:

Ah, that's pretty good for a FW. Perhaps you could add a bladed tip and use it to hang up opponents, a la Big Cheese  :approve:

Actually, I've just thought of something. If a robot was just on the top of the arm, would it not tilt itself over when it tried to lift it, rather than lifting the opponent? With the front edge being so far back. You could either add stabilising things to the front of the chassis, or shorten the arm if you really wanted to.

the wheels being in the middle stop it from doing that.

I'd move the wheels forward to where the battery's are because once you lift something the bot is going to want to faceplant and with the wheels up at the front the bot has a smaller turning circle to get the weapon facing an opponent.

If you don't do that I'd mount most of the heavy stuff at the back to act as a counterweight when you lift another bot.

Or just put some outriggers on the front to prevent it from faceplanting.

lol @ random tin of Varnish.

Looks pretty good so far. I'd add something on the back to stop getting stranded. Why do all the LW's seem to have relatively tiny wheels?

Most LW and lower bots use drill motors that output 450-1000rpm. Average robot speed is ~10-12mph.

Tire diameter (inches) * Axle shaft speed (rpm) / 336 = speed in mph. So with that a 4" wheel and a 900rpm the speed is just below 12 mph. Which is about average speed for a robot.

Also large wheels cause more backforce on gearboxes which means more stress on the gears and a higher likelihood of stripping a gear.

How big is the ram and what pressure are you running at?
