I remember when I was 7, I saw on TV a Robot Wars match. Do you wanna know what bots were there? Disc-o-inferno & Major Tom! When the battle was over and Major Tom was wrecked, I was thanking that, BOY! I WANNA BATTLE AGAINST THOSE!!! And then I always watched Robot Wars on TV.
Some my history:
2003:Watched first Robot match
2004:Start to play Robot Rage
2005:Same.
2006:Same, Boring...
2007:Started Robomayhem
2008:downloaded Robot Arena 2, Boy! This game rocks!
2009:downloaded Robot Wars AOD, Wasn't so good than RA2
2010:It would be nice to see the future:approve:

I was a car aficionado back then, and not much of a robot nut. I only started liking robots last year, when I was selected to become a member of the 2009 Philippine FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team. I initially agreed just to escape from the wrath of homeworks, but after a while I became interested in the field. After a few hours of surfing the internet, searching for robot simulators, I stumbled across this game. I got a torrented version of it, and I've been playing it ever since. :P

1999 (I think it was) saw an ad on TV for Robot Wars I taped it to watch later, it was the international league, the line up was

Techno-Lease, Prometheus, Razer, Diotoir, Terror Australias, Depoposaurus

It was broadcast due to Australia competing, the announcers and presenters were all Australian, this was really cool but RW was never shown after

2001 or 2002 another channel advertised RW to come on Saturday Nights they Aired Series 3, followed by series 4 and started series 5 but was cut shortly after, all the series were the UK RW and featured Craig, Johnathon and Phillipa

this was when I got really into it but lost interest after series 5 went off TV

2008, I walked into a game store and found a preowned copy of AOD, it was really cheap so I brought it and played it to death lol, I disliked the lack of realism in it so I went in search of another RW game, I found ED and downloaded that and played it, after looking up videos of ED on youtube I came across an RA2 RW Replicas video, I then came across Clicks VHS and decided RA2 was a must have :P

from late 2008 to now I have been downloading every RW match I can find on youtube in good quality, so far I have series 6, series 7, Extreme 1, half of 4, half of 3 and started getting 5 lately

I dont remember when it was, but many years back I was watching that what is on the TV and saw Robot Wars there, we decided to watch that and then for a few months we watched it regurally but then started forgetting about it. Few years after that I discovered Robot Rage, wich I played for half a year and stopped and a few more years after that I torrented RA2 and AOD, but scratched AOD because it wasnt as intresting as RA2. And here I am now.

1st time I saw it was 2001 I think- My uncle filmed some Junkyard wars tapes for me and my dad to watch and a few episodes from Robot wars season 2 were on there. Then I got hooked.

I saw it on tv while my parents were zapping through the tv programms. they stopped for a moment. What I saw was a little Red/yellow machine fighting a Red Robot with Black spots on it. I only remember that the second one was set on fire. my parents disliked it. (they still do) but I loved it from the first second on.
after the fight the Diotoir Team gave one of it`s eyes to firestorm i think.
Ironicly firestorm is my absolute favorite Robot (series 3 version)

I was going on everyones nervs with talkin about robot wars but noone liked it. 3 years ago someone said he hade a game where he can build Robots and he would sell it to me if I want. I played it since then, always building robots like the ones i saw when robot wars was still on tv.
and then I joint the GTM a month ago.

did you get RA2 in austrailia anyway? I thought it was banned due to: "Non-human violence and gore that may offend robots."

apparently the same way a lot of people got it.. torrent :P Infogames just didn't buy a world wide production license, they only brought one for a few places

Saw Robot Wars on nick when I was around 5 never got the name, then I saw a Battlebots guide when I was around 10, saw the name Robot Wars watched that, <3.

Flipping though channels at a hotel, I caught the last few minutes of a Robot Wars episode. When I got home I did some research, and eventually discovered Battlebots.

I have something more, Last year I was watching Robot Wars Matches in Youtube, Then I saw a RA2 vid, I was like OMG! I searched it from google and tried to download it, finally I downloaded it and it was fun! when I had played it like 2 weeks, It scrapped out and I didn't find it anywhere. Then I found GTM! First I was thinking that it was boring place and I didn't registerate so I later found RA2 again. (I'm talking of Stock) 2 months I played it and it screwed again! I was so mad so I joined to GTM in May 2009, and you know all the rest, GTM Rocks!

Got into robot combat about 10 years ago, when Robot Wars used to air. Watched BattleBots until it went off air, and went back to Robot Wars. Found RA2 a year ago and loved it. I still got tapes of those old Robot Wars & BattleBots matches.

I had less than 10 years (I don't exactly remember).
I saw RW on an italian channel (from swiss) and got amazed by it.
My mother thought it was stupid and I couldn't watch it freely.

then they changed all the programs on the tv channel, it was offline for a few days. I kept watching it until it came back, and RW was no more.
Afterwards I just read things on the internet, then saw a lot of videos on youtube and played RA2 like

, and browsed for hours on modding sties.
In the past years I've just sometimes browsed forums like this, and I seldom played RA2.
I sometimes check this forum because the hope of an RA3 never fades. I miss a robot wars like TV show so much too.

2000: saw my first battlebots match
2001-2002: taped most of battlebots S4 and S5 and saw a few Robot Wars Extreme Warriors episodes
2003-2008: made mini lego battlebots and fought them.
2009: saw my first FWRW and RA2 vids on Youtube.
2009:convinced my mom to buy RA2.
2009: started Robot Wars Lego Madness.
2009: Joined Gametechmods.

Bump

Just before we moved house in 1999, I discovered RW Series 2. I was glued to the screen every Friday. Eventually, it went off in 2003. I was heartbroken on discovering it wasn't coming back. I attended 1 event in 2006, and mostly forgot about RW. Then, in June/July 2009, I searched on google for Robot Wars, and came across the Robot Wars Wiki. Having lurked there for a month, I registered and started contributing in August. I saw the RA2 vids of a member called RA2 (Sonny_Resetti), and in one of his vids he talked to GF93 about Replica Wars. Searching for that, I eventually found myself here on GTM, and S_M gave me a copy of RA2 shortly afterwards.

i started watching robot wars in 2000 and was hooked and in 2008 i found out about RA2 and so i bought it even though the last version (RA) was crap

The first thing I remember about robots was when I was about 6 or 7. Had to get up about 5AM to watch it. Never really caught the name of it, or even the names of the robots ( all of them have just escaped my head. ). forgot about it for after a couple of weeks then my friend showed me robot rage. Wouldn't stop playing it till about 2005, when I moved to where I am now ( nice try ) and just forgot about it. Round about 2007, amde a new friend who would illegal download games for free or just plain get games for free that is legal and show them to me. 2009, showed me RA2 and I fell in love. About a week in, and I was allready better than him, but he had the beetle bros mod. I searched for it and found this place. Nice.

I think when I was ten or so I caught the last 5 minutes of Battlebots when staying in a hotel. Looked interesting, so when I got home I looked it up. After becoming obsessive and making nothing but replicas out of my Mindstorms kit for about six months, my interest kind of went away.

Five years later I found RA2, and three weeks after that I joined the forums. You know the rest.

I don't really remember what the show was exactly. Originally I thought it was BBots but there was one machine there that I remember was a wedge bot with a claw or a pincher or something on top. Maybe Razor? That's why I thought it was RW.

Also take note that I can't tell what topics I've already posted in, for some reason.
