Pretty cheap too, if you don't get any extras.

Just putting it out there for anyone who's interested...

oh cool now more people can enter dozens of the same kit design into every tournament instead of designing and building their own robots.

Haven't people been doing that for ages already? Inertia Labs had one, there was a VDD kit (IIRC), the Viper kit...

I never liked the idea of kits. Kit parts are one thing, but when multiple people start entering the same design over and over again it gets very stale to me.

I agree with you there. That's why I'm building my own ant from scratch.

Personally I don't think there'll be a Tsunami of these kits at events.

On a more serious note the kit seems to be impressive value for money, considering it looks so simple to assemble you could give it one of those brick by brick Lego construction guides. But I have the same feelings otherwise.

For robot standards, it looks to be quite a snip at £91. If I can come into a bit of money, perhaps it might be something to consider.

The only problem I see with those is if it takes a ton of damage, you're boned because you can't repair it without a new set of plastic.
To be honest, I would ditch the plastic and use the parts to make something interesting.

Apparently they can give you replacements for the entire body for $40.

The Viper bots have actually been really different. Compare Slim Pickens, Hangar 11, Kitbot, and Aftermath.

Well yeah but there's still the Inertia Labs kit that is still being used by at least one robot, there's the 3 or 4 Kitbots kits, etc...

Hell there's usually more Wetas than beetles in most small scale tourneys nowadays
