To all the good chaps in Blighty. Does anyone remember the TV show where people modified real cars to be remote controlled and then fought them in a 1v1 demolition derby style? I think it aired on Bravo. But I can't find any trace of it.
I remember that, can't remember the name though :(

Neither can the internet, apparently. Which is annoying.

speaking of which, does anyone remember the name of a robot combat like tv show that aired in the early 2000's that featured underwater submarines rather than land based machines? I don't remember the channel either, I just recall finding some info about it on the internet a while back.

Common guys, can we stop comparing this to BattleBots, I don't care if it's glorified rock-em sock-ems, I want to see two giant robots beat the sh*t out each other.

So do I, which is the reason I'm complaining about this show.

Crash FTW lol, Scorpio looks sick in all seriousness though. This reminds me of One Must Fall: 2097, can't wait to see more of it (watching first episode now).

I really don't trust SyFy with shows though, as they have killed off a number of my fav shows and those shows actually deserve to be on SyFy.

Ok, it's quite better than I tohugh.  The robots' movements are a lot less restricted than I thought, what with the sticks and all.  The actual fighting, when they got to it, was everything I expected.

But really, I don't give a frack about the contestants themselves, good for them for being an olympian, MMA fighter, daughter of George Lucas, etc. but I don't need to hear their insipid confessionals, robot boxing has very little to do with "I call myself a country boy."

As Elvis Presley said "A little less conversation, a little more action please."  I think we could've somehow had a fight occur before 1/3 throug the program.

I will be legitimately surprised if any of the robot breaks were actually the bot breaking and not just things programmed to let go after a few hits. It was pretty gimmicky, and obviously going for the Real Steel type of market.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

If they pick up the pace in future episodes, I'll eat some humble pie.  I'd be real disappointed if they padded out all the episodes to one fight per.

I'm just waiting for when the reality show aspects kick in.

Our spy cameras have discovered that two members of opposite teams are having a love affair!

Oh no, Drone Strike has been sabotaged! Who could have done this???

The actual fight was pretty badass, and the damage looked real enough, what with hydraulic fluid leaks and armor panels that were warped.

Well no need for challenges now that the rankings are sorted and no need to introduce the teams, although we did miss out on seeing Game Over and Thunder Skull. They should be able to fit 2 fights in the 40 minutes of TV time they have.

I hope they build on this and give us more types of weapons etc.

First fight seemed pretty legit.

It's easy to hate on something new that you think will ruin something you love, this isn't something to replace robot wars/battlebots it's more of a robot boxing thing. We should all just appreciate the work that went into those robots.

Chris Jericho hosting is also full of win.

I'll grant you that; Mark Setrakian is a builder that I have undying respect for becuase he always builds these multimillon dollar bots and isn't afraid to get them smashed up.  I'd think that some of the damage had to be real; it is two ten-ton behemoths whacking each other, and I can't imagine why they'd purposely rig a hydraulics cable to break; those things are a pain to clean up after and replace.

What they have to do is ditch the reality show style format, confessionals and such; because I associate reality TV with "faked"
