Despite being my favourite, im gonna have to say Mortis, every year that it entered it was shortlisted as one of the favourites for the competition and had crap loads of money injected into it, yet it still came up short every time
Agreed. On a similar note, Cassius II deserves a mention here, despite it being one of my all-time favourites. Had it not reversed into the pit, it could've won the whole series.
It had weak armour (poly) and I think 101 would have won on points.
Actually, it was fairly good for Series 3- but some weapons, like Shunt's axe, had gotten considerably stronger, and it hadn't been adapted to resist the blows. But in all honesty, I think it could've won on points by throwing 101 around.

As for Hypno-Disc, it was at a weaker stage (notice how its disc gradually slowed down over the Series), so I think even with a bit of damage, it could've flipped it to win.

Steg-O-Saw-Us? Straight in, straight out.

And Chaos 2, now that would've an epic Grand Final.
My prediction would've been Chaos 2 eventually side-stranding it on the Arena Wall to become Champion, before knocking it back down so that they could both take on the House Robots.

I'd have to disagree with TRiaS on that one. 101's weaponry wouldn't have packed the same punch as Cassius II's did, and I think it would have won on Aggresison, Damage and Style, if lacking a little bit in Control. Had it defeated Pussycat, I think it almost certainly would have gotten to the Grand Final. It did look like a very, very nicely built and elegant machine, but it did make a very early exit in that series, unfortunately.

And I would have LOVED to see that happen during the Grand Final. =D

I had no idea where to put this but...

Yes, that's Hvispilä. Best finnish 450g Bot ever.

I don't see where the disappointment would be.

If the driver of the RC car was disappointed that he didn't win then he's got a long way to go to succeed in combat robotics.

I also think 101 was overated. Yes it was well driven, but a lot of it's victories were generally luck, such as Scutter's Revenge and of course, Panic Attack.

Nary is going to love this thread to bits.
In any case, I found that Mantis was extremely disappointing in terms of performance; it's still one of my favorite bots ever though just because of the lifting power.

Sabretooth (Series 6) probably would've done better if they actually used the saw-blade instead of having that extra wheel.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Fluffy in Series 7. Such a shame that it ended up losing its drive.

Sabretooth (Series 6) probably would've done better if they actually used the saw-blade instead of having that extra wheel.
IIRC, they broke the weapon shaft in the qualifiers, so they couldn't use the weaponry they'd wanted. On the plus side, it was the fastest Robot Wars entry of all time. =D

Turbo was a pretty overrated robot, the blades couldn't even break through plastic, and the shell was held in place with scotch tape and bits of twine.

Cerberus in Series 4 and the First World Championship. I don't know why, but there's something I liked about it.
