Dead Cell robotics
« on: July 11, 2011, 01:36:19 PM »
Well I figured I'd make a little thread for my legit real life robotics. I've gotten an RC car and a few other messy piles of electronics and mechanics so I'm going to try to get a working model/mockup of a sportsman class bot up and running sometime this summer. Wish me luck.

Yeah, RC cars are bad, look at Haz's direction as for how you can make a very cheap robot without the use of an RC car  :laughing

yeah, slightly better than a rc car but you will get shedloads more respect with little servo bot than some kid with an rc car with a pencil on top

I'm not sure how asking my parents if I could bye stuff off of some random guy on GTM would go.

Harbor Freight 18v drill motors are great, they put out a little over 1hp and are under a pound. I use em in all 3 of my bots. At $20 they aren't too expensive either.  Also I prefer the Sabertooth or Vantec escs over the scorpion ones but that's just me.

There's no way you could make a competitive 30 sport out of an rc car. You'd be worse off than they guys from team Warpz with this trainwreck of a bot.
