According to Team Run Amok there was an announcement about Robogeddon in May. The name is changing due to copyright issues however.

I guess that isn't surprising, the mane's been used about a billion times already.  Next they should call it Spike or Zeus

Hmmm, Walking Rbobots? Please dear god no. That would be horrible if it turned out like that. I would much rather like a Battlebots reboot (although that runs risks, considering how the "Fear Factor" reboot went  :ermm: ) I also hope it will be aired in england or at least international, I do like Britt bots more than Americans. However considering how Cameron is, it probably wil be the Walikng robots thing. I just hope not.

I'll be cool with it if it won't be walker-only.

It isn't 2001 anymore. I'm pretty sure people can make some pretty kickass walking robots nowadays. It won't be a show full of Miss Struts and Milennium Bug or anything.

I think the walking bots will prove for interesting stuff, rather than the old box-with-wheels, which is, lets be honest, pretty backdated now.

but, who can afford to build a walking robot without sponsors? i bet that the competition will lack contestants because of how expensive the costs to make the robot.

Walkers Only Lightweight:

With weapons

There are actually a few companies that make semi-affordable walking robot kits. I wouldn't be surprised if someone decided to upgrade one of those with a set of super high-torque servos, slap some armour and weapons on it, and enter the resulting robot. Actually, I'm surprised that hasn't already happened.

Still, if they decide to make it walkers only, the costs will become higher. I could probably build a somewhat-decent wheeled LW for the cost of that 3DOF kit from Lynxmotion.

I was totally going to post Ginsu, but I see that Phoenyx has beaten me to it.

Still posted here so that this will show in my unread replies.

I'm not in love with the "walkers only" thing, because inevitably they'll have to ban destructive weapons, it'll be too easy for a powerful spinner break its opponent's legs

While this is true, I'm sure that most wheeled robots have the same weakness of getting their wheels ripped off, IE most of Razor's matches included the destruction of the wheels if not being the priority. Besides, depending on how you make the crawler, you can afford to lose a few legs or your weapon will be too heavy or powerful for your crawler to move efficiently, so you can't build a Nightmare-worthy spinner.

Note what robot Hutson was with at the initial unveiling (Root Canal). I doubt it's walkers only, even if it is wishful thinking.

Ah, that gives me a bit of hope- hopefully that'll mean more traditional means of locomotion (IE. Wheels and tracks) will still be allowed.

now we just need to make an irl bumble bee and we'll be all set
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Yeah, The technology we have now would prove some kickass walkers, and I would mind a couple walker matches in the show, But the whole program being all walkers? No. I miss the "boxes". And whos to say we can't make some kickass wheelers. And besides, if it were the walking idea, how long would the show last? I'm sure it would cost ALOT of money, time and brains to build it. And even then, how entertaining would it be, to have to slow bots lwalk around. I find it to be boring.

I'm not saying that it should be all walkers. But I think some giant Robo-one esque walkers could be awesome.
