I'm going to release the brackets in a couple of days when I finish work experience, but for now, I am going to give answers to a few of the questions I have.
And where did my HW's distractionbot go?
I never got it in time. While my timing was bad, I could have accepted the minibot around 1 week over the final deadline at the maximum, but this was 2 weeks over. That, and Paladin is already OP without a minibot made.

SOMEBODY FINALLY ****ING RECOGNISES IT!

With all the time you spend bitching about people posting multiple robots, you could actually give feedback on them instead. Just a thought.

I had to go off and it was 1am. I needed sleep so I finished the post off and went to bed. I'll review en in a bit.

Also, well done to Hoppin for editing in detailed advice. That's what showcases are for.

Saturnalia: Good but generic. Give it some accenting with wedge edges, spikes, extenders, extras. You have a lot of colours to choose from, try and use them all. Also, it needs a less generic skin. Also, this robot is unrealistic as ****. Look at how the npc goes through the burst. How the hell is a piston meant to get through there?

Magnhild: Build to the weightlimit. That's just under 125kg wasted. Your chassis is too small. That's a ****ing puny burst. I'd be surprised if your robot didn't fly through the air everytime you fired the burst. Slimbodies on a HW? No. Use the weight limit and get some NPC'sin there. Stick an armour plate on or 2 to add to the look. Decorate. The skin looks messy with some being plain white and others being metal. Build up a look for the skin.

Stormflower: Unrealistic as ****: the bar and teeth go through the perm and I think actually hit the drive motors and wheels in places. The Sir K claws do not fit the bar: use something else. Put the perm in theback and extend the belt out to the front. Use Left and Right NPC's because they are flatter. Too many batteries for sure: The batteries shuld tell you how many motors they can power, and for how long they power it for.

Crocea Mors: Looks good. Slimbodies clip with the battlepacks though, and that is not good. Get into the habit of Building realistic constantly. Using an excuse of "it won't appear in tournaments" is just a way of refusing to improve.

Ruby Rose: Can't really see the internals well. Try and fit the skin to the extender colour. You probably need a wedge on there. Slimbodies for drive? NO.

Black Sun: Unrealistic. Don't use Ant batteries. Longer belt on the motor. Underweight.

Yoton: Generic. Needs a better skin. Underweight: this is underweight even for Cruiserweight standards. Unrealistic AGAIN.

Rum/Flipper Arma/Garudimimus/Einiosaurus: Looks decent. No advice available becaus eyou haven't provided internals, outside of a request for a better skin.

"I'll have 1 Havok Restart per match.  If a second occurs, the culprit of the explosion will be DQed."

Problem:

Robot A rips off an flail from Robot B. Robot B havoks.
Single Havok Restart used up.
Robot B rips off a flail from Robot A. Robot A is the culprit. Robot A is DQ'd despite having the same number of Havoks as Robot B.

Replacement rule: If a robot havoks twice (and both times it is certainyl its fault) in a match, they will be disqualified.
Good point.

Also, I'm going to request a limit on flipper power. I just don't think it's fair for a flipper to be able to send people into the ceiling or flip people OOTA from the middle of the arena. I'm all for competition, but it's just not fun or fair to have a robot able to ****ing curbstomp opponents like that, and it's arguably not very realistic either: but even if it was, it's a game that will never be a perfect simulation of real life.

If this rule isn't implemented, I'll probably be sending in a BS flipper because it's either that or getting sh**canned by a BS flipper.
You're trying to what Robot Wars are doing to spinners, but with flippers.
Besides, If Wheely Big Cheese could toss a robot halfway across the arena, anyone can.

P.S.  Why are you only doing this to me and not in other tournaments?  :ermm:
It's really easy for me to snap under pressure...

I would appreciate instead of doing a "entrant chooses their team" system, you did a draft system, maybe with one person picking a member at a time?
There are other tournaments.  My format is choose your own adventure.  Mr As and Thracker did it as you requested in their LvDs.
Also, it would be cool if instead of using your robots as spare robots, you used entrants from the original LvD. Just to remove literally all bias possible.
Then who wouldn't choose Paladin?  And if people just re-enter their robots, we'd have doubles.

A: Just because somebody did it that way, doesn't mean you can't do it that way. Also the method you have right now is quite frankly sh** as by sheer luck one team can be blessed with all the 3 burst / ridiculously powerful flippers of any amount of bursts (if you allow them) and the other team can be left with none. A draft at least allows the captains to tactically split apart OP robots and replaces luck with strategic choice.
Can't stop what I enjoy.
B: Ban re-entries and choose a small pool of robots that do not have sequels entered in the tournament, maybe?
As cool as it is, it would bring up a lot of problems.  Such as if someone clones of Lost Cause.  Do I count it as a Grindr ripoff?
Besides... You act like we're gonna need Spare robots...

Firstly, WBC only did that with illegal pre-filled bottles with nitrogen at higher pressure than allowed. They only ever did it once.

And actually RW stacked the deck in favor of spinners by retaining an active weapon rule, plus putting a sh**load of spinners in, and not really having any spinner killers outside of Foxic and Wyrm. I mean, did you even watch S9?

Finally, do you want half the field to be overpowered flippers that send robots into the ceiling with every flip? Because that's what you are going to get unless you prevent Paladin/Aether Paradise/Delta levels of power from being accepted.

Also, you're sticking to a sh** team system that is going to make the tournament worse. Why? You're making a sequel to a tournament, why not improve what was clearly bad about the tournament?

I agree with most of the other feedback given so far. I like Ruby Rose and Crocea Mors a lot, but a few of the others look a little bit generic, and could do with something to differentiate them (Like Crocea Mors' wings for example)

Don't bot dump.
Or do since Avalanche is the only one who cares about this. More bots means more stuff to give feedback on and a better idea of the overall level of your building at the time of posting.

Or don't, because this advice used to be standard before a lot more people began bot dumping and not taking advice because their building was already good/they were morons who didn't take advice anyways, and also because dumping bots means you get a lower quality of advice spread between all the robots instead of high detail focus on a single robot.

As an example, look at how you've literally just said: I like Ruby Rose and Crocea Mors, but others look generic. That's hardly detailed advice.

The most detailed advice has gotten is: "I'd say the spinners all need work. The exposed wheels and clunky looking supports look a bit messy" and " Black Sun the robot actually does need some work though, weapon looks a little messy and it has way too many batteries. You also seem to have built a few samey-looking wedge flippers." which really only ives basic advice on one robot, and limited advice on multiple.

Just post them one at a time for detailed advice.

It's 1 o clock, so I'll give better advice later today.

BADGER. YOU KNOW WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN.
Please don't prompt him to do it again Ava...especially since you were the one that started the "thREEEEE bursts" flame war in the first place. Apologies for what seems like I'm blaming you, but it's the truth.

I need my vengeance.

Oh, and I don't think the Robogames arena is good for flippers unless there is no roof, because the gap between the wall and plexiglass won't allow robots to fall in.

I would give criticism but there are so many bots that giving detailed criticism takes ages and is a waste of time.

Don't bot dump.

Return Of Smart Box:  Is it a tradition to have 1 SnS per weight class.  I have yet to really look on the others.  Anyway,  The ramplate seems pointless.
Blitz MKII:  Very cool design.  It might go all the way if it can self-right.
Raus III:  Could definitely be Avalanche's year this time.
Anti-Gravity:  The anti-Flipper mode kinda bothers me, but otherwise, it'll tumble a lot of robots.
Fighter IV:  I feel this is one of the more lackluster Fighter versions...
Panzer strike:  It's quite awesome in some ways, but the front of the wheel guards bothers me.

REACTIONS:
ROSB: The ramplate can be used for ramming if the Frenzy falls off (if doot ai'd it that way), and also provides protection of the weak chassis.
Blitz: Thank you. And yes, it can selfright. So basically prepare to die.
Raus: This is my last stand to get a tournament win. Or multiple, as I will treat each division like a seperate tournament.
AG: Yeah. I think theres differing armor as well but I seriously cannot remember because it's been so long since i built it.
Fighter: I replaced the old typhoon teeth with better-fitting ripping teeth, brought down the 3 teeth to 2, and tested it's selfrighting. It can. It's also (iirc) running a dual perm this time around, so if it hit's you it'll ****ing punt you (and me) clean across the room. Basically: prepare to die or send me flying via recoil.
Panzer: I don't see what the problem is.

I think I'm in with a good chance, here.

This may well be my last RA2 tournament (at least for a while), seeing as i've joined Garry's Wars.
Doing GTM and GWars stuff isn't mutually exclusive, y'know.
Eh. GWars has replaced RA2 for me currently.

Congrats to apanx, this month's winner!

The builders were.

1. Neon Calypso
2. Apanx
3. Enigma
4. Kurt

Ok, the Robotnik jokes are dead now, but due to this fitting perfectly to the results of this month's BOTM, this video just had to be posted. But regardless of Apanx determinedly winning this month's BOTM due to making the Nuke cannon from C&C: Generals in OBJRA2 and creating custom parts for it; at least he used OBJRA2 in way that didn't have anything that related to My Little Pony or made a blank chassis that just shot lighting, as if he was to make Twilight Sparkles or some pony with a cannon on it's back if we knew too well. But no, Apanx decided to do something something else which would be for the better, without the use of ponies.

Now, I feel a little sorry for Kurt now. Users like Avalanche really like his bot, mainly due to the reason of being a real bot that never used any custom, cheat parts and built properly built in the Bot lab. But regardless of this bot being well made and had an animated splash, the whole execution was quickly shot down by Apanx when his entry was in the competition. I aware that Kurt did get 9 votes from some, friendly users, but unfortunately the votes were over shadowed by Apanx's 28 votes of a recurring theme of OBJRA2 parts into BOTM. So Congratulations on your determined victory Apanx.

Another Predictable thing: you taking 2 huge paragraphs to say what could be said in a single sentence.

Congratulations Apanx: now release your methods, please.

And you really, really should do this all in one video, or at least upload all the videos at once.
Counterpoint: if you do this, the video will be really long, and I will not watch it.  If you upload a bunch of videos at once, I will only watch the one I'm in.  If you spread out your videos, I am more likely to watch all of them.

This. Beat the Clock worked well and it was a slow burn of 3 videos, each containing 4 entrants. As you have less entries, just do one robot per video and try to crank out the videos quickly to maintain hype, and then delay the release if needs be.

[I just don't like these sorts of robots outside of the classic "No rules" December BOTM's and think that BOTM should be about building cool, effective, impressive designs.

It is ****ing impressive tho, and i'm not denying that.

I just don't think it fits BOTM.
That is a fair point, and I do respect your opinion and I can't change that.  However, I voted for it since I honestly don't prefer any of the other bots here and makes good use of the rules.  But since the impressive OBJRA2 bot is here, it's essentially the most one sided massacre since Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Road Chip went head to head in cinemas.  Take the bot away and what do we get?  Some underwhelming bots to vote for and something I would be at best okay seeing on the front page.  Of course this is how I see it, but I'm sorry, these BOTM bots have not been great lately and I honestly just skip voting since I could care less about which bot won.  But this one I would love to see on the front page and I voted, which means I actually give a damn this time.  Not trying to start a flame war in the slightest.  It's just how I feel.

fair enough
