Alright, so in one of the discords I use, we were playing a game, and i figured it could work here also. So here goes:
Somebody asks a question that has a robot (we did it with robot wars robots, but RA2/Battlebots works too) as the answer. For example, "This robot was immobilised by a opponent before the match actually started" could be the question, and the answer would be Flippa, after not making it to the arena when Ewe 2's driver tried to brush aside it's aerial just before the match started and the aerial came off. Whoever got the answer would then say their own question, and everyone would guess the answer.
Note that if you want to branch out from just "this robot did X, what is it" questions, I don't mind, but PM me first so we can see if it will work.
I'll start with the first question: This robot is the only robot in Robot Wars that was given a free pass into the world championships without winning a battle prior.

DSL HW IRL DSL Tournament Arena DSC Component Pack allowed Robot Arena 2 Component Freedom allowed. This is going to be a Battle Challenge, not a vote.
The host will be DemonOfTomorrow.
Due to the... caliber of my opponent, the IRL and DSC+RA2CF rules are merely a formality. I will be following it, but I do not expect asbestosstar to do so very strictly.

mayfly mayhem can't be bothered with an actual logo
Why is this called Mayfly Mayhem? Well: 1: This tournament is single elimination and it only has 8 competitors.
2: I hope to rattle this out in a week or two once I get all bots in and AI'd.
3: All robots must have plastic armor, ram plates and snowplows aren't allowed and caster armor is banned. Everyone dies incredibly quickly.
But wait, it's not just a Complete Carnage copy!
4: Hovercrafts are mandatory.
Mayflies have a life span of 24 hours. This tournament will last a very short time.
Yeah, it's a sh** name. IK.
Basically, i'm just getting to grips with tournament hosting with a short and meme-filled tournament.
As i'm no Stock builder, i'm not entering. I just figured this would be simple for a meme.
General Rules: 0: I withhold the right to do anything with this tournament as I see fit if something has horribly gone wrong. I don't WANT to use this rule but with my host history it's best to have a Plan B. 1: You can't enter till your robot is accepted and received. 2: I'm not entering. 3: In thecase i end up with spaces unfilled (after a period of second entries if necessary), I will attach a hovercraft (and air to use on it) to one of the Stock AI (nothing is more scary than flying EMERGENCY).
Building Rules
1: Stock V1.4. 2: Unrealistic Building Style. 3: Heavyweight 4: All robots must use hovercrafts. 5: No ramplates, snowplows, caster armor. 6: RA2CF (all of it except for attachment point hermaphroditism) is allowed. 5-6a: Don't use component intersection for caster armor. 7: No BFE, AAM, .py wizardry or text file editing allowed. 8: All AI parts allowed. 9: Jokebots are actively encouraged. Just make sure they can actually be AI'd.
Match rules:
Fights will be 1 minute. The bracket will be single elimination. The fights will be Best of 1. Battles will be done in the Small Arena. Hazards Off.
I've almost certainly missed something out here, so let me know what it is.
tl;dr: i want to do a quick tournament to get back into hosting, it's Stock HW, all robots need to have hovercrafts, and must have plastic armor and no ramplates, plows or caster armor. Everyone dies.

Ok, so I need to type this out quickly before heading to a exam, so I'll make this quick.
Basically what I was thinking was "is Live Designs gonna happen, and could we have an alternative to that if it doesn't?" I didn't fancy asking Badnik, as the more you poke someone to do something, the more they get pissed off. (See: The Asbestosstar/Collosseum Debacle). Also, a notable problem I feel that has been around GTM for a while is that once you win a tournament, that's great bragging rights, but it doesn't stay. That may be being changed with the GTMCS tournament and the ribbons that apparently will be attached to people's profiles if they win, but I think another good idea would be to have tournament entries automatically added to this pack; This way, anyone can fight or work with the robots that have been entered into tournaments, see how they were built so that they can either clone it or take inspiration (cloning a good robot means you might understand how to build it better than simply being told how to build it), and can then compare what other members have made to yours.
Also, another thing is that when you showcase something, it stays there, all that happens is that people come along, say either "that's sh**", "that's meh lets improve it" or "that's some cool sh**", and then the robot is forgotten shortly after.
However, if you enter that into a AI pack that everyone uses for IRL, whether that ends up being this or Live Designs 2.0, everyone can see it repeatedly and can fight it. This could potentially lead to your building being recognised, or if it's not too the highest of standards, people can call it out and the builder can improve on it.
Hence, doing a community AI pack, where every member can submit a robot (though this is more suited for helping bad members improve and good members showing how it's done), should be a good idea.
Also, I don't think this needs to be restricted to IRL. If people want to do a Community Builds DSL-S/Stock/Ironforge AI pack, simply do it. I literally stole this idea from Badnik without even asking him and tacked on some additional ideas, so go ahead and copy my copy.
(sorry badnik)
Also, doing a community league where each month a different tournament or task is run, such as one month being a Stock HW build, one month being DSL-S month, etc. (or 2 months if we need more of a timeframe for the host, tho i'd love to do the host.) would be a interesting idea as we could then have the new guys branching out from IRL and into other metas so that they have a chance of winning the league, as the league would not just stick to one meta.
anyways enough rambling i need to get off the computer soon so heres my thoughts, reply with thoughts on how this may work and if it'll be a good idea.

Right now, the title system is absolutely meaningless. Anyone can challenge at any time, unless they don't agree with the rules the challenger/champion applies, in which case the champion can outright refuse to give a title shot, as Badger found out when he tried to challenge me to DSL-S HW Title, which never happened because of his wishes of DSL-S and mine for IRL. Also, there are 6 different weight classes in each meta, yet half of the titles aren't even used. I firstly suggest reducing the amount of titles down to 4: One for each mod- Stock, DSL, IF, Retooled. We could also perhaps split DSL and Ironforge into DSL-S, DSL-IRL, Ironforge standard, and Ironforge IRL, if we feel that the standard and IRL communities are incompatible. Even with this, this would be approximately half the amount of titles we have, making them all more meaningful.
I suggest making it so that every 4 months, we have 4 title fights. The people who get these title shots are those who have won the most matches and are the top ranking for that 4 month period. People can run in title contendership for 2 out of the 6 titles we would have. To get a title shot simply rank up by taking part in challenges: then, at the end of the 4 month period, the top ranking players are given title shots depending on what metas they challenge., a Challenge Board mod sets up the match rules and arena, and the champion and challenger create a bot to suit the challenge. Best of 3 with hazards enabled should be standard, but if the challenger and champion agree then it could be changed.
By doing this, we generate hype around title matches, reduce the amount of championships on offer to make each individual one mean somethin.
In my opinion, we should assign the 4 metas to new champions. For Stock, the current champions of LW, MW, HW and SHW (in that order) are: Playzooki, Redace, Badger and Wacky bob. A round robin tournament to decide who is the new stock title holder could be held to select a new champion. The current DSL AW, MW and HW champions are 090901, S.H.I.E.L.D and Avalanche. We could either do a 3 way round robin, or if S.H.I.E.L.D is inactive we can do a best of 3/5 1v1 between 090901 and myself. For ironforge and retooled, give those titles to the winner of the IF and Retooled GTMCS.

Seeing as we are currently underway with a massive growth, with an official Gametechmods Championship tournament, should we for the next year create a league? Take all the tournaments hosted for 2017, and make it so that Major League Host tournaments give 3 points for 1st place, 2 points for second, and 1 point for third place, then make Minor League tournaments equal 2 points for 1st palce and 1 for second.
(i need to go to my next lesson at school, but here's a very rough idea, let's just talk about it? will edit this at around 4pm with better ideas.)

I got right back into Tony Hawk's Underground. I wanted to discuss the pure liquid nostalgia this series is, and also how utterly broken THPS 5 is.
Recently I bought a PS2 controller (off-brand ORB one, dodgy but works), and immediately jogged home and got to work playing THUG. Sweet jesus was this game well made!
Anyone else remember this series or am I alone with fools who do not know the best thing to ever happen to skating?

Seeing as Hero Of War's showcase was headed towards derailing, I decided to make a discussion thread. The logical conclusion for Ironforge UHW is 2500kg, but could it be 800KG? Much easier to make. However, seeing as SHW is 600kg, why not have a new weightclass for 800kg instead of UHW? While this would mean you would need a antiballast if you wanted to attach ballasts to one, you could just make one. Hell, I will get on with one once we pick a name for this.

Game - DSL 2.1 Arena - Robot Wars arena. Weight - Heavyweight. Realistic Rule - IRL Realistic 16 entrants. All previous entrants of First Strike will be entered in this, unless they are replaced or withheld by builders, or if they break new rules. One entry robot per person. Only in game glitches are allowed - eFFe Glitching, Axle Loading and Snapper Loading etc. Exception of BFE for chassis shape and realism. If you can't AI I will try me best to AI for you, but please do not complain about it unless it is a serious issue that has to be resolved, such as weapons not firing or a bot capable of avoiding immobilisation doesn't. You can't enter until I have received and accepted your robot. If your bot doesnt load up in a DSL 2.1 clean copy then your bot is disqualified. No ifs, no buts. Multibots not allowed. (As a result, KekBanter is not returning.) Judge Bursts and Lifter Bursts allowed, max of 2. Battle Rules: Double Elimination. 1v1 matches. Voting System for who wins if time runs out: Poll goes up to decide who won. I am fully aware that this is frowned upon but i doubt will have volunteers. However, if 3 people do ask to act as judges, this will be overturned.
