Existing Games / New trackmill game: Cat Ninja

Hey guys, Sorry I have not been a bigger part of the RA2 community recently. But I know a bunch of you and I think some of you will  like the newest game we have added to trackmill.  So, if you ever need a change of pace from  a wreck eachother game, give Cat Ninja a try. Its a tile based game, but the level editor is pretty solid, open ended and expansive. With the ability to add multi room maps  you can make some pretty cool stuff.  There are still a few bugs that need to be squashed, and  any help finding them would be appreciated.
the game is a fun twist on the classic platform game where you need collect objects and find the endpoint. But there are many fun obstacles that can get in your way that keeps maps dynamic and interesting.

I tried  it out with  a buddy of mine and there was very  little to no lag.


have you guys tried it?


me and him both have 20mb/s+ internet, bur still, I was impressed.

A list of custom components
 
What I need is:
1. the component txt file; found in either the components folder or the components cfz file. NOT the gmf.
2. the weight of that component, which in most cases can be found in the component txt file, or in the game.
3 The name of the component.
4. the link to the download zip of the component/pack
 
in this format:
component name, componenttextfile.txt, weight, download link
 
if its a single component please list them like this:
Mini CO2 Airtank, a5099air.txt, 55*, https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Arena2...o2_airtank.zip
Blue Bird, bluebird1.txt, 66*, https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Arena2.../blue_bird.zip
 
If its a pack like this:

What I need this for:
I will make is so when uploading bots to the exchange you will not to do anything but give the bot file. The script will calculate the bot weight and extract the bot preview image automagicly. It will also provide a list of required downloads on the download page.
 
 
people who help will be given the following:
-early access to the bot exchange
-name put on the credits page
-I will have your babies?
 
people who don't:
will have ads on the exchange, maybe.

Game Development / New Robot combat game- in progress.

Ok, A buddy and I were toying around with the idea of creating a new robot combat game, and decided to use the bullet physics engine.
 
While doing research my buddy found an awesome thread over at the bullet forums:

then lanch the game.
 
its really cool so far, if I do say so myself.
 
From what I have gathered:
 
-it is made with C++
-models are made in MilkShape (Free, unlike 3dsmax)
-made with the bullet physics engine(FREE), rated the third best physics engine today.
 
 
I am in the middle of contacting him right now. letting him know he has an entre comunity backing him.

Modifications / Chassis Weight... how to calculate it...

Hey guys. Ive  bee working on the new new bot exchange... I want to be able to calculate the weight of the bot(mostly just for a challenge).

I was wondering if any of you modders figured out how the game calculates the weight of the chassis.

I have a hunch that it has something to do with surface area(sum of each side) but im not sure

I know it also has to do with the armor, but thats probably a simple multiplier at the end of the algorithm.

Before I jump in and spend a few hours figuring it out I was wondering if any of you have played with it.

if you want two(on diff rows) they cant be bigger then 100px.

Hey Guys.  I have just activated a reputation system.

Its just a system to reward good/helpful/nice members, and help new members know who the people they can trust are.

right now only Admins can give out and remove reputation. However if you reach a "rep" level of 150, you will be able to give people positive rep.  When you reach 300 you will be able to give both positive and negative.
your current reputation is under your postcount. click the


UPDATE:
you will get another green square for every 125 rep points. For example. since I have 10 rep points I only have 1 square. once I hit 126 I will get another.

This is just a test system,  we may increase/decrease the values if we need to.

Discussion / Posting Quility has taken a dirrastic downturn

I have noticed since I've been back that the overall posting quality has gone down, A LOT.

There has been a drastic increase in double posts, pointless bumps, thoughtless posts, even the trolling/flaming is bad quality.

Please guys, this is not an instant messenger. You have time to think out your posts and user proper English. Do so.

Sadly we lack the vets that used to keep order. ACAMS,Mad,Clickbeetle, and myself are becoming increasingly more busy with things outside of the RA2 world;so it is hard to keep  order.

I'm not sure if this thread will do anything, but it has been on my mind so I needed to say something.

I went there today to see if there were any updates about the new ESPN deal.
This could be a bad or a good thing. They may have taken it down to get ready for a new site.
time will tell, I guess.

I have been really busy lately, and have not been here in a while.  I just want to let you know that even though the game has very few players I will find time to re-make the bot exchange.


It wont be as sophisticated, but it will be good enough.

We have had this catagory since the phpbb days. We have it for a reson. If you have an issue, comment or suggestion dont hesitate to post it here.


We had no clue that this skin was unliked... Because noone told us. WE wont ban you for giving your opinion. Hell, I have banned a total of 5 people in the lifetime of my time as a mod/admin. Yea, I have messed with peoples avatars, but thats all in good fun.

So please, let us know. We are good people. We are both HURT that no one told us this before.

For now I have the RA.com forums coming here. in the future  I would like to figure out a way to get the threads/ posts  from there onto here. But I cant really think of any way besides doing it by hand. Neather me or acams have acess to get the database info.


well, I may be able to make a curl script(lot of work), I dunno. we will see. anyone have ideas or comments on my choice to do this?

the bot exchange is ready to be released to the public. there are a few features that are not done, and may  still have a few bugs, but it is now fully functional.

me, acams, and hopefully apanx are working on a new bot exchange that will be hosted here on gametechmods.com

some features:

-Automatically takes preview picture from the bot file
-Automatically takes Bot name from bot file
-Automatically takes Bot weightclass from the bot file

-Ability to sort by weightclass, weapon type, builder, ratings, and downloads

-saves a list of bots that you have already downloaded

- a page with all the bots you have uploaded, along with your overall rating(mean of all the ratings of you bots)

-create a list of bots that you want to download and download them all with one click into a zip file.

-if a bot requires a part that you do not have, you have the option to download it along with the bot.



If you are interested in being a beta tester, please post here and ill PM you a tester code.
