NEW: Reputation System.
« on: September 24, 2008, 01:01:43 PM »
Hey Guys.  I have just activated a reputation system.

Its just a system to reward good/helpful/nice members, and help new members know who the people they can trust are.

right now only Admins can give out and remove reputation. However if you reach a "rep" level of 150, you will be able to give people positive rep.  When you reach 300 you will be able to give both positive and negative.
your current reputation is under your postcount. click the

UPDATE:
you will get another green square for every 125 rep points. For example. since I have 10 rep points I only have 1 square. once I hit 126 I will get another.

This is just a test system,  we may increase/decrease the values if we need to.

If you have an questions post them here.

It is just green, is there supposed to be a number?

And alos, I tried to add "reputation" to one of my posts, it said that the post had no reputation, and I had "10 reputation points", but it wouldn't go down even when I pressed "give reputation"

I commend this system, i like it a lot. *applauds*

can i just ask where is this numerical value?

EDIT: never mind, found it, sorry. For other users, it's the scales icon next to the green light saying if you are online or not

so when you get 150 rep you can basically just give posotive and negative rep because you could boost your own to 300 straight away

I have seen this reputation system on some other sites, there you can give positive and negative reputation, no matter how much rep you have.

MM: You cant give reputation to yourself.

I tried that on another site of mine (anyone can do anything)

it became a mess. people just downreped people they hate, and the system became pointless.
this way, I hope people with better rep have better judgment and don't abuse the system.
If your rep gets to negative we may consider a banning system.  We are still disusing this.

Sort of similar to a warn system like those found on Invisionfree forums, except it works in both directions. I like, I like.

please read my first post. You need 150 rep points before you can give out any.

those that  dont see it need to clear your cache and relogin.
heres how:

Is there any way without deleting everything. What exactly does it delete, just the history, or other stuff too. Like, would it delete my favorites. or JUST the history.

you can just restart your computer if you dont want to mess things up.  What clearing your cache does is delete your  temparary files that are on your computer. Browsers do this to  save speed. (they open the file that is on your computer rather then redownload it)
