Bullet Hell games. Incredibly difficult Bullet Hell games And for the most part, a lot of them are roughly Gradius-esque. Except Mega Mari, which actually gives you two health bars to compensate for the ridiculousness.

Oh look another splash of the month contest.
Next BOTM, everyone should just make the splash solid white, Arial size 10 font, and just list all the specs and leave it at that. Lets see how far the BOTM goes.

As in an ACTUAL escort game type.
Civilian Mode -> Invincibility + Cannot shoot, cap points, or carry intelligence. Troll people, by blocking their bullets.

@Nary: In Uprising, you drive the Wraith Tank. OMG... I played that ages ago- I would love a re-make, but that's never gonna' happen. ....Though there IS a way to play it on Windows 7 n' such, I just don't have a copy of the game :/
