I think the whole idea is that you join the tournament sort of like in pairs. If you have a grudge with someone on GTM, or just someone you want to prove yourself to, you may want to talk to them about signing up for this tournament.

Really like the gimmick :) If you decide to give your rival something difficult to work with, expect no mercy from their pick, haha. As usual, I'll be voting no just so I can see the votes every time I view the page (and I just don't normally enter tournaments :P)

if its actually a thing tho
Why is this still in question?
they might hold it back for some reason, cant know until we actually have it
Doesn't change the fact that this is still currently a thing. Even if they scrap it, it would still have been a thing.

I think it has to do with the aspect ratio, if I remember correctly. Same goes with exporting chassis textures, you can only do it if you reduce your aspect ratio a bit. Mess around with that and see if you can get it to work.

Comments as I'm watching: Dat ban list, tho. No Gagaga Cowboy for game? For shame. Your opponent was a bit sh**.
Never quite seen a deck like yours before. Don't think it would survive in the current format but it looks pretty cool. Still, it killed me inside to Tour Guide and Chain at 3 and a deck with Instant Fusion without Norden.

Hold on, is this section even meant to accessed? The Steam thing obviously doesn't work and on the actual website http://www.robotarena.com/ it doesn't redirect you to this page. Also, yeah, you're in the right section, just wrong topic. There's already a Robot Arena 3 thread but I'm fairly sure this find is worthy of this topic being merged to end of the current one.

Right, I've done a bit of a cleanup in the Tournaments section and have replaced the mention of Craaig and G.K. with myself so that new members don't get confused if they read their names and don't get a response. Feel free to inform me if there's anything else I need to change in that regard.
Also, from now on, feel free to ask me any questions about tournaments or perhaps a suggestion to amend, add or remove rules.

I see on the OP that you're entering. If this is still the case, remember to add yourself to the entry list.

I assumed your were going for the maximum as you haven't specified your tournament size of 8 entrants. Could you please amend the OP to reflect this?

« on: March 12, 2016, 08:42:06 AM »
Yes, you can but always remember that the amount of 'Yes's - 1 will be the actual interest of the tournament from other people. You still only need 8 'yes's but I'd advise waiting until you accumulate a tad more before you request moving this to signups.

Oh hey, it's the edgiest GTMer trying to host a tourney again, and well, Throwback Throwdown gave me the idea of making a stock tourney whose point was to go back to when the game was released and when stock was at it's very start, a trip back to the roots.
Tourney information: Stock MW Combat Arena Any BFE/Hax Mode and other wizardry will be banned Single Elimination Brackets 16 entrants Best out of 3 Havok will lead to restart I will enter with this little fella:
Building Restrictions: Snapper Loading and Stacking of any form is banned HS/SnS hybrids aren't allowed Overlapping can only be done on servos (by that i mean putting motors inside batteries and stuff) Effe glitch is banned Popups can use max 4 razors as weapons but can't use ramplates as armor or burst wedges caster armor is banned Blue Snapper is banned 140 cm square AND red extender are banned HS can only have maximum 2 weapons per weapon head (like for instance, you can't have 3 spikes on one end of a tribar)
That should sum it up, thoughts anyone ?
This is now a singups topic and the rules quoted cannot change. Have fun, you've got 3 months.

Congratulations on a successful tournament! Your host point will be added shortly. I'll now contact Craaig to move this to completed.
I guess any new member lurking the website and finding this will be wondering why I'm here, haha.

For your first tournament, the thread looks nice and clean. You may want a bit more clarification of whether there is a limit to updates on robots. Like, am I allowed to only make minor changes, major changes or send in a whole new robot?

« on: March 12, 2016, 08:16:05 AM »
Well, do you want it to or not? I can confirm it can move up to signups, just make it clear you want it to move or send me a pm and I'll move it.

a few people were asking about a stock tournament, so why not (Image removed from quote.) General RULES: -Stock MW, 249.1-399.0 -Bots that are classed as HWs at 399.0 will be accepted -Matches will take place in the Ring Arena -2 minute matches, best of 3, double elimination -16 entrants -If needed, bye-bots will be robots from the default stock AI (bots will proceed whether they win or lose). -Multi-bots are banned -Meltybrain AI is banned -I have the right to reject any robot that I feel does not meet the rules/cannot be AI'd effectively -You cannot enter unless your bot is received and accepted
Building Rules: -Standard stock rules -You cannot use hax mode, BFE, AAM, etc. -AI parts and the 140cm exnteders are allowed -Cheatbot2 parts are banned -Custom components are banned -Smartzones cannot be used as ballasts -Bots must show controlled movement -Crawlers, trinity spinners, and bumble balls are banned -Bots must have at least 2 powered wheels
Other: -Bots get one free havok restart for a game-changing havok, a second havok will result in a loss for the offending bot -One update is allowed per person. this can be as major as a rebuild or as minor as a skin -I can AI if you are not able to, just don't expect anything fancy -I will be entering with this anything missing? different arena? weightclass change? hate mail?
This is now a signups topic and the rules quoted may not change. Have fun, you have 3 months :)

Geice, RedAce, I'll crack down on your threads once I'm familiar with what I can do. You don't want the new guy coming in and messing up everyone's thread because he doesn't know what to do, haha. Once I get a crash course, I'll be cracking down on everything Tournament related :) Gratz yugi. I think you are the perfect candidate for this task.
Thanks, mate :)
