R1885 basically covered what I was gonna suggest. Chains and gearing get complicated fast, especially for a few build, so chaining your drive and running your lifter from a drill (which would need extensive gear reduction, even if it did have enough power) is probably not the best idea. Simple 2WD with a linac lifter is your best bet. You'll only need the one. My other suggestion would be to get onto some of the more roboteering focused forums and groups as the actual building group here isn't all so big. If you're in the UK, the FRA Forum is a great place to get help, and there are multiple builders groups on Facebook which are pretty friendly ( Roaming Robots, Unofficial Robot Wars and Combat Robotics spring to mind).

It's not that they're not allowed, they're just not that great.

Yeah but that's unrelated to the statement R01 put forward :L If we're going to go full ' hey look component editing' mode, I'd just say make a tiny very heavy component for counterbalance.

Thank you! :) It's always hard to judge the cost of this bot as a lot of it was scavenged material, but an estimate for all the internal parts, wheels, wedge and plastic would probably come to somewhere near or just above £100. Not a cheap hobby but it's so worthwhile :D

Ballasts can't be placed on extenders, just use a heavy object (eg sledgehammers). Burst power is all in the txt files though, no point counterbalancing there.

Lifting arm is blue, counterweight is red. Servos don't tend to be strong enough on their own so you need to help by evening out the weight distribution.

Pretty much the only way to get servos to lift is to use counterweights iirc

Seeing people freak out about it all over the internet makes me not want to watch it. Still not seen Frozen or Avatar either.

Pretty much every tutorial we have written is linked from the Complete Tutorial Index. Arenas are very complex and most custom arenas are 3D modeled rather than coded from scratch. With the Gauntlet and Pinball also, with so many objects in the arena (along with a complex arena in itself) you will likely encounter a lot of lag in trying to play the arena.

Images can be found on most of their Facebook pages, but as per Badnik seems to be doing an awesome job collecting data together on his wiki blog list thing.

I thought Events_2Player was the Events txt file the game referred to instead of the normal one if you set Event Size to 2 Player in the options?

That's because Foxic was supposed to be a rammer not a flipper.
Was it?
