I don't know the story but it was likely what you said HX_ if you think it was that.
TRB, you know all regular users don't have it so you can't play victim there :P 844

Cleaned this thread up. No more drama or backseat moderating from anyone or warnings and/or mutes will be issued.
Meister has been banned and other verbal warnings have been issued. 848

Yeah, conversations began then and quickly dropped off because our communication level was admittedly awful. Over the last few weeks we've really kicked everything into gear and there's a fair few changes being worked on for both rules and forum format due over the next few weeks.

New rule system is going through approval with all staff as we speak.
We are all communicating a lot better recently, honestly the staff hasn't been this cohesive in a very long time. 850

Kill and Craaig don't do diddly squat anymore, and all you do is bash newbies and mute people you don't like. So that leaves....Thyrus maybe? No we're all still here. Not a lot is going on for us to act on right now... 851

To get a competitive heavyweight nowadays you'll be looking above your top estimate.
BattleBots give competitors $8000 towards their bots. Series 3 was a loooong time ago :D 854
General Support / Re: Anyone got PyRA2 working?« on: April 23, 2016, 10:29:19 AM »
Only component editing of stock gmfs in recent memory has all been done via literally editing the gmf file (Mr AS's new mod and Ironforge are prime examples)
PyRA2 is barely used to my knowledge, if at all. Most people here don't mod and even more of those have probably never used PyRA2. I know I haven't. 855

Think I mentioned this a few days back but the Wiki is often outdated, and it's better to look for download links and tutorials on the main forum.

Discussion / Re: [Concept] A yet unnamed mod(R's mod)« on: April 21, 2016, 11:58:19 AM »
DSL has plenty of drive motors, not sure what you're trying to say there.
You can make custom armour to change the chassis weight but it's not all too useful without weightclass changes. Also if you change your weightclasses to be very low, you'll likely run into a lot of havok issues. And yeah, Rule of 7 is a Rule for a reason :P 860
Real Robotics Discussion / Re: First time bulding a robot, any advice?« on: April 20, 2016, 06:03:56 AM »
Oh, yeah, don't get me wrong, drill motors are fine for drive - won't win any pushing matches but they'll get you mobile. I meant as a lifter motor, the drill isn't likely to suffice without additional stages.
Thing to remember is, how do you intend to do the chain drive? Eg are you gonna have dead of live shafts on your wheel axles, how are you gonna keep the shafts in place, how are you attaching wheels to the sprockets etc. It becomes a lot easier when you consider just putting a wheel on the drill motor shaft :P |
