Oh yeah, mine is 'yugitom0'. Forgot to say when asking. So, powerrave, you definitely in the tournament?

Never drop Maxx "C", kids.

I hate Quasar decks but that was commendable. That's certainly one way to win against Kozmo if you can't get over their ships (the Trish would have done it because it doesn't target but he was dead set on a deck out victory, haha.)

Looks good but I hate the Brilliant engine. You joining the tournament, J?

Edit: Just saw those Pot of Avarices. What ban list you playing, J? Just get rid of 1 and you can play legally in the OCG.

dude just play, its just for fun anyways
Alright, then. But, I'd like to trust that people are using the same deck throughout.

Also, post your DN names here so I can add ya. Confirming your place in the tournament doesn't mean you have to duel anyone soon, you just have to at some point, so if I get confirmation from Trov, eco and maybe powerrave  (don't know what he meant by his latest post) I'll get the brackets up and we can sort out some dueling times.

If the sending of a deck list will needed, I'll read it then. For now let's see what'll happen.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that.

However, Elementos has been given an exact amount of time and that time is his. If he comes back tomorrow but I've handed his tournament over to someone else, he isn't going to be too happy.

767
I'm afraid a host can only take over someone else's tournament with that host's permission. So, Elementos would have to return and give up his tournament (and lose a host point) anyway. I'd possibly allow someone to take over the tournament without permission if Elementos completely disappeared.

Right then, I think I'll make this post the signups, then. I'll write down all the names I've seen mentioned and please tell me if you can't/don't want to attend. By the way, because everyone works off different times, this won't be one big live tournament, every match will have their own agreed time, so don't worry about times. I don't see any reason to not enter due to time constraints short of having no time at all, which I totally understand. For now, I will exclude myself from the list because I'd rather have a judge who can keep track of deck lists and stuff but I'll jump in if one more person would do the trick.

1. Kill
2. Kill's brother
3. Trov's brother
4. Badnik
5. TRB
6. Powerrave
7. Sage
8. Yugi

I think, with the number of entrants, we'd be best off with a Round Robin format to get the most out of the tournament. Everyone okay with that? Also, Trov, you said your brother is still quite good, do you think he'd want to enter?

Just been to a HU gig, it was awesome :) Attila were supporting but they aren't the best. They were much better live than they sound in the studio, though, I'll give them that.

Well, not every single deck that was once tier 1. Just try going creative and having some sportsmanship for this one tournament. I might use Dustons :P I'm only trying to cater to the GTMers that say they're interested, even though they haven't played in the meta for a while. If they're up for it, I could do a normal tournament with no restrictions either now or after the proposed one because I'd like that, too.

When I think tier 2, I think stuff that used to be tier 1 and aspiring tier 1 decks.  Stuff like Yang Zing,  Ritual Beast and aforementioned examples.

Honestly I really dislike DN, but a tournament does sound interesting. As for special rule or whatever, I'd say "no tier 1 decks", only meaning what is currently at the top this format.
Yeah, I was thinking (and said) no tier 1 but I was also thinking about excluding tier 2, as well, just for a bit of variety. If this goes down well, I'll host some more tournaments and they'll have different gimmicks or no gimmicks at all.

Another question popped up. If one is hosted, would we be playing the same deck throughout and does someone keep all the deck lists? Or can we pick a different deck per round? This is asked so that people interested can think ahead some.
I was actually thinking about this earlier today. I'd like the turnout to be enough that I needn't participate and I can judge the entire contest (i.e, keep decklists) because I'd like everyone to stick to one deck. If I do want/have to join the tournament, I suppose I'll have to allow the changing and modification of decks. Or run the tournament on the honour system :P

As for DN, I hope you can put up with it enough to just do this tournament on because it's nicely paced and I can record the matches in real time instead of uploading YGOPRO replays which no one can keep up with (I could slow it down in post but then it just looks weird and awkward.)

Ah, cool, this is a nice reception. Before I do any post akin to signups, I'll let us agree on the gimmick/rules. For a little bit of freedom in deck choice but not to deter anyone like eco, perhaps we could go for a 'nowhere close to the meta' tournament, in which, not only can you not pick from the meta but, for sportsmanship, you musn't pick DDD's, Water (Mermails), Qlis, etc.

If no one raises any objections to this suggestion, I'll make the next post I make the signups post.

So, I know it's pretty much me, powerrave, eco and Kill throwing stuff in here nowadays but are any of you guys interested in a fun little tournament? It'd only work if you guys have mates that are willing to participate. Perhaps there'd be a gimmick like a deck archetype pool or the Pegasus rule, something along those lines. Kinda wanted to do this for a bit and DN tournaments don't cut it for me because there's no real host participation and I'd like to record most, if not all, of the matches. It'll be a laff and would be cool if any of you guys could get any mates on board if you feel like doing this.

By the way, I'm asking this now in light of DN kinda being back up if you use this link: http://www.duelingnetwork.com/?card_image_base=http://www.yugioh.party/lowres/
I know some people here don't like DN but we all know each other and are all familiar with the rules, so I'd rather host a tournament on that instead of YGO/DevPRO.

I'm afraid it's not a valid argument to use opinion when Red said it so matter-of-factly. He was imposing his opinion, not stating it, by insinuating that there was clear pandering to furries. It's fine for him to dislike a trailer if he believes there is pandering to furries but he shouldn't be stating it as if it's an objective fact.

Tournament Archives / Inactive Discussions
« on: April 19, 2016, 06:57:16 PM »
Once a topic that has been up for discussion has not been posted in for 1 month (used to be 6 but I believe that 1 month of inactivity is enough to warrant a topic being inactive), it will be locked and labelled 'Inactive'. It will remain like this unless the member that made the topic consults me about unlocking and reviving the thread. If a member wishes to take over an idea that another member has not followed through with (a tournament discussion that has become inactive) and make a new thread, they must consult that member for permission first or they may contact me to see if they can use the tournament concept if the member has been inactive on GTM for a reasonable amount of time.

This topic has been made to replace the 'Inactive Discussion Rules' thread. Feel free to speak out on anything you feel needs to be amended in this post (for example, how long a discussion must remain inactive for it to be locked.)

With the new gadgets coming up, I really wanna see how a pure gadget deck would do. 3 of all of them with the rest of the deck being tech and stuff. Could be cool. I know I hate r4nk but I really do wanna try out the new gadgets when they come to the TCG.

Due to the recent reform of the Tournaments section and the resulting removal of the Completed child board, whenever you ask me to complete your tournament, I will be locking all the threads rather than moving them all to Completed. So, make sure that you've said all you have to say in the SBV (and Awards if you decided to do so) threads before you ask for them to be locked.

I understand you may be waiting for one or two more votes but I thought I'd remind you about this deadline if you still want to stick to it.
