OHAIBOOM: Massive amounts of fail right here
MiniShini: It looks pretty cool, but is too fragile to be a serious contender

Lul, I had no decent battleworthy HW's (apart from flippers - and they wouldn't be oh-so-good in that arena).
But hey, you never know, MS might be able to get some good match-ups. It's just a shame all the bots were sent in months back cos about a month ago I made a much better/less fragile version. 'Tis much better.

Dr Who :)
Torchwood a close second, if you can count that as sci-fi

DSL TC Showcases / Craaig's DSL Robots!
« on: September 01, 2009, 03:52:16 PM »
Okay, this is my opinion on what's goin' on.

I prefer having the bar to the disc, the disc seems heavier and is a waste of the weight and damage potential from the bar.
Also, there hasn't been many fights where the weapons have been pulled off - the motors strong and I chose the tornado spikes partly BECAUSE of the hp.
I don't like using prebuilt discs, feels like cheating (unless it's chewblades/sawblades).
Wheels will be worked on, an ant batt will be taken out, and I'll have a look at getting a Perm 80 on there.

Sorry for the DP, but since there's been all this activity in my showcase, I thought I might post something new.

I've worked on this a lot for a long while, and is almost at perfection (to me anyway)
XD2
4 ant batts.
Spinning 20x40 DSL bar with 2 tornado spikes on an E-tek, generating enough spin with enough weight behind it to cause a lot of damage along with a great flipping action.
Self rights stupidly easily.
Good armour due to small chassis - can't remember what is it though.

Any comments, criticisms and advice are welcome.

GTFO of my showcase, LRA2.
You cloned me if anything. When i first saw your showcase I actually thought you had taken the name.
Bit of a complex name for an 8-year-old to come up with on his own isn't it?

Discussion / Favourite Weight Class
« on: September 01, 2009, 03:32:29 AM »
I prefer the heavier classes - HW/SHW. If I feel my HW is gonna be a bit too big, I'll stick an Anti-Ballast on and pop it up to a SHW.
But I always find SHW's are a lot of fun with a lot more space for originality, and similarly with HW but to a lesser extent.

I dunno about stock, but in DSL I love VSes like Shinigami, as most people have probably noticed. Entertaining and generally destructive. In fact, I made a HS version (SHW) of it today which is awesome...

Tournament Archives / King Of Karnage - Jousting Tournament Idea
« on: August 28, 2009, 09:25:22 AM »
I like this idea, you gotta think about your robot in a much more serious way than just making something to smash everything else up.

As for the weapons, when you say nothing can go over the wall, that doesn't include the weapons on the burst which go over the wall when fired, right?

But yes, I really like this idea and would like to take part :D

« on: August 28, 2009, 07:06:55 AM »
Although I would like it if the disc got some better hits and it stopped wheeling off madly (although it looks awesome :D), it wouldn't seem fair to go changing the AI now. And I'm not LRA2, so I'm not complaining about AIing. :P

Craaig, your bot would be alot better if you didn't have the wedges flip up every time you got under anything, ATM your bot spends half the time off ballance, your lucky your oppnents bot was as slow as a snail at the north pole, as every other bot (even the ones with RAD drive) would just take the time to smash your bot into 1234567890 peices.

Eh, I would say thanks for the advice, but it wasn't advice, seemed more like criticism to me XD

Does American count as foreign if you're English?
If yes, Madina Lake, Green Day or Metallica. (EDIT: or Paramore. Forgot how much I love that band :P)
Otherwise... The Hives :P

Guys, do you have the originals? I'm kinda leaning towards not making new bots that are awful.

I don't have the originals, but I remember them very well. Good times :D
