I'm going to get some proper work done on this now... and while I'm thinking about it, a certain preview you uploaded a few hours back for a certain tournament looks AWESOME.

How about a HS fest? Might actually get some damage in there rather than pitting
Like Fortress, Whirlybird, MSD and How My Razors Taste (The Cage doesn't count :P) 7469

Custom Components Showcase / Hammer of Judgment« on: September 21, 2009, 10:47:58 AM »Quote from: Madiaba;67618 A couple years ago I BFE-ed a 'Mega'-bot like this one of yours (for lack of a better term) called 'Absolute Assimilator'. I fashioned it after Goose's "Donut bot", with a very large square hole in the middle of its chassis. It was AI-ed to move straight over an enemy (via range), and then lift the enemy (via force) up into it's center 'termination chamber', and then dismantle the bot (via damage) limb by limb/component by component,... hehe. I added 'bot-fire' too. The pieces would fall out the bottom as detached. It was never made asthetic like yours here is, though, and I wanted to add some wav files for effect. I'll look for it and post a vid if I find it... Although HOJudgement looks awesome... this sounds epic too. Always been my style, taking bits off. But HOJudgement looks amazing, just the look of it... wow ^_^ 7472
DSL TC Showcases / Craaig's DSL Robots!« on: September 20, 2009, 03:01:19 PM »Quote from: Naryar;67507 It has great looks, but is the rear razor really useful here? Eh, guess not. If I took that off, I could put Vlad wheels on, which could work. I put it there just to increase protection from side attacks, but yeah, I see what you mean. EDIT: It already has Vlad's. Fail. EDIT 2: I took the razor off, and I had enough weight to bump the armour up to Steel 5, taking the weight to 245.5. The extra weight on the back seems to have improved stability and I think it's improved the bot. Yay. 7473

Okay, I need to know which of these would be better (with the drive and armour) :)
And yes, I know, I used a pre-built disc... and I said I don't like them... but they're convenient :P ![]() 7476

Discussion / Favorite Arenas« on: September 20, 2009, 08:18:47 AM »
Although I like plain arenas when testing bots, the arenas with hazards are much more fun.
My favourite is the RW arena, there's nothing better than pushing a dead bot onto the drop zone, flipper, or pit (before descending it, just to watch them fall :D) 7479
DSL TC Showcases / Jonzu95's DSL Showcase« on: September 20, 2009, 06:55:55 AM »
It appears to be fairly unique, but whether it's any good is another question.
I reckon you could get better weapons than that for less weight. And I think those wheels are a bit too heavy for a bot that small. 7480

Yeah, don't worry about mistakes, everyone makes them, and a lot of people here can't even AI!
You're doing better than those guys, Yayoi, and this is an awesome, unique tournament - I wanna see how it ends! :D |
