Custom Components Showcase / Re: Pay Tribute With Replicas« on: January 30, 2017, 04:07:18 AM »is it small? the wheel you used isn't that big in the game but it's quite huge in scale with the rest of the botHave to agree with Thyrus here. Apollo does in-fact have small wheels which allows Apollo to have a low ground-clearance in the arena, but because of the wedge and the position of the wheels, it does counter-balance the thoughts of a high-ground clearance. Regardless of that, it's pretty neat and well designed to make it look like the original machine. 683

Robots Showcase / Re: Team Trash 'Em/ Team B.R.U.M.M.I.E« on: January 29, 2017, 07:58:47 AM »So Ant Freeze 4 went pretty well. Won one against previous AWS champion and grand finalist Why Wait (pretty nasty vertical spinner) with not much damage other than a slight gash on the top of the flipping plate and got beaten twice in the main bracket by flipper DystopiAnt and clusterbot Wedge Wedge Wedge. Got a decent performance in the side events coming 3rd in the Gladiator Rumble (if you count Wot R U Saying as immobile) with some minor damage to the side from one of Rory's spinners (a bit like PP3D from Robot Wars) and then coming 2nd in the pinball competition later on.That's a pretty good result you got. I also got a few Questions to ask: If you were to enter the next Ant Freeze event, what might you do to improve your Ant weight or will you build a new one (I know this things ain't cheap but when you do have the money); and what was it like at Ant Freeze anyway, did you get along with anyone or you just focused on the main event. 686

Time for a bit of almost IRl. I'm aware that this Bot had to go through two, different version but I'm still not happy with the self-righting and the Flipper itself. Just if you want to know, this is a Middle-Weight with about 10kg to use up which I don't know what to use it on.
To me, this is more to my tastes in Robot building but please do have a say on what you think. ![]() ![]() No, I'm not planning to Enter DemonofTomorrow's Tournament with this since it's heavily flawed, it's going to get trashed badly and I don't feel in the mood for entering Tournaments. 687

A bit of a bulk post here. So I took the advice of Craaig and made a few changes onto Copy Cat, which do include: a much smaller chassis, stronger weaponry and a new paint job simular to the last 2 models. There were a few times I was very much in the mood to just give up on making the robot, but thankfully, I pulled through and finally got my bot done.
![]() ![]() ![]() Please do have a say about what you think. And Also I know the extenders on the back are a little too long, which is just to counter balance the Robot. 689

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Dark-Al's DSl showcase (Definitely Something Lengthy)« on: January 25, 2017, 11:21:35 AM »Chassis, again, is too big. You need to shrink that a bunch and upgrade the hammers as they will come off, trust me :P if I can get 30kg hammers on a LW, I'm sure you can at least try 45kgs on thatI know I can trust you Craaig. I remember looking over some of the old tournaments like BBEANS especially BBEANS 6 , you were the one who built Blood Orange which I can understand that you have experience of building these types of Robots. I'll get to work on this, but don't expect it to be soon. 691

Made an update on Copy-Cat. Oh and, this was just something I threw in about 10 to 15 mins, so it's not perfect or anything.
![]() If you're wondering about the name, it mainly a copy on most of the spinning hammer designs that were in some of the old BBEANS tournaments I've been looking through. Some of the bots include Mako and mainly Blood Orange. 692

Seems more fun and interesting when hosts allowing unrealistic building in DSL. If it goes to sign-ups, I'll consider entering.

If you didn't read my edit, I solved the problem by switching to window mode in the option menu. The result can be seen in my DSl showcase. And also, I think I was running at 1240x1000 at full-screen to be more exact. Thanks for the advice, I give then all a go.It would be useful to know your precise screen resolution. Is it 1920x1080 (1080p)? Let us know if anything worked for you.Very odd, I've never come across this. Are you playing fullscreen? What resolution is your monitor? 695

Got to really love the use of Crumbs compartment freedom. Well spaced, looks strong and well designed. By the way, what are the insides of Tortoises anyway. I know it mostly your typical Full-Body-Spinner,

Well, After being gone for a week. I felt a bit bad for my previous actions. Because when I may of been bogged down with the criticism, I felt that you guys were just trying all your best at helping and giving feedback to newcomers, but I was overwhelm with all the feedback, I felt like I had to do it all in one go. However, I decided to comeback for another chance and feel like I don't have to take all your advice in one go like a beginner, but to take it more easy and take my time.
So the point of this showcase? just to have fun. So to start with, I made a Boxing Robot after seeing Rob Collins' personal tournament. So here's the Convict: ![]() ![]() I think it really does need a better name. Edit: You can download the bot here:https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/DSL_HW/Dark-Al_The%20Convict.bot 699

Very odd, I've never come across this. Are you playing fullscreen? What resolution is your monitor? I haven't check, but yes I am playing at full screen with the resolution in the 1000x 1000ish area. Edit: Solved the problem by turning off full screen. Thanks guys for all your help! 700
