Just for fun... had a battle I made up myself by modifying the simple robot_list.txt file inside of the game directory, inside the "robots" folder. I edited the .txt file and wrote instead of all the robots available in the game, to "plunder". This activates ONLY Plunderbird 5 in the game!

I'm gonna buy it when I've finished exams
R.I.P me

So, remember a few years ago when I posted really cringe worthy things? I tried to do a replica tournament which sucked? well I'm sort of starting it again.

"Oh ffs he's gonna ask us for replicas again I can't take him anymore...."

Well, it's not going to be exactly the same as before. Once I fail my exams I'll be getting back into RA2 making robots and stuff. I'm making all the robots myself and doing small episodes and stuff before any big series'. I'll still be doing the Generation A where I'll try and make as many first generation robots as possible and cram them into one so it still make sense. Some that were different weight classes will be on the episodes before. Hopefully the robots will be better made now that I can bfe, bypass rule of 7 and skin slightly better.

Now I have Sketchup, I was thinking of making arenas like a better car park arena (or more than one like shown on the tornado website + indoor arenas with no floor functions: http://www.teamtornado.co.uk/rwim02.htm )and roaming robots arenas from the early 2000s such as the circle one and with a bit more knowledge on coding maybe the 2005 one with a flipper and pit. Then the RW arena with a lot of luck.

I was thinking the episodes will be posted on weekly basis, and shown with animations like pictures appearing over videos (I do have an idea of this even though it sounds weird or whatever) and keep going with ideas from GTM suggestions.

I did want to upload robots and videos on another account but I spoke to Trov and it can't be done, but I'm not bothered so much lol. Another thing I want is a voting poll for the end of tournaments from GTM and they'll be shown on the end of series'. Also an AI will be released with all the robots in the series included.

First of all, what should it be called and what tournaments should I make? Note I'm only doing Robot Wars and American Robot Wars robots (sorry to all "oh I'm only a Battlebots fan I hate how you only do RW robots) except if there was a version of a rw robot in battlebots like spitfire and little sister.

Anyway, and suggestions for an overall name IE "[name]: Generation A - Episode 1"?
(please keep it serious :D)

jpgs don't support transparency.

get paint.net and use the magic wand to remove the white and then save as png.
thanks

me again, needing help
("  jaydee, you are not making it easy for us to not call you a retard")
I'm trimming a template for my ra2 videos using paint, I'm erasing and cutting all unwanted bits and stuff.
How do I save it so the white bits don't show please?
Here's the picture, when opened it shows the white around the edges but I don't want them to appear, is there a way to put it over a video clip without the white showing as well on video makers such as Videopad?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help :)

Wow... now who would buy all of the rc versions of the robot wars toys except Sergeant Bash for £800??? Way over my budget... PLUS I already got the best versions (ALL of the house robots new and used ;) )

Instead of building chaos2 you could move the one released on the 2013 rw pack to the game which might save you some trouble :)

shame I'd literally learned how to bypass rule of 7 a few days before this was made
What's your method?
Building the rest of a chain on another base component and swapping the component parent number over, it requires replacing the component placed last on the chain I'm trying to follow on, it sounds complicated but it isn't tbh :D

This is excellent, shame I'd literally learned how to bypass rule of 7 a few days before this was made, something everyone has wanted.
Thank you Serge :)
Forgive me for assuming that you're talking out your ass, but how did you do it, and why didnt you tell anyone? Seems pretty co-incidental that you discover a method for bypassing a rule we thought was set in stone for over a decade a couple days before another method was publically released.
I followed Sonny's advice on the topic, so no I'm not talking rubbish or not telling anyone plus it had been found out before :) it's actually a pretty good method but unnecessary now :)

So making replicas and bfe didn't go well, it looks like a flattened box.

Pretty simple designs, but they look solid. Work a little bit on the proportions and they will look great.

Jaydee, your Spawn Again looks pretty good too. It looks like you started on the side spider webs and just gave up and started scribbling. I like how you did the flipper arm though.
Ah yeah, the skin gets screwed up a little due to bfe so I have to work with what I can but I did try to make it as accurate as I could

So for the past two days I've started getting back into RA2 a little and just tried to remember how to build replicas again, I made Spawn Again the series 6 and Extreme 2 version.
I know it isn't good and needs work and I got lazy with the splash (as nobody really cares about replicas any more anyway or me I don't think it will matter too much) anyway after a long time of not building anything:

I recently found a pretty good free video editor called VideoPad, it does much more than WMM and can have multiple video/audio layers too. Wish I had it ages ago. It has like a fake trial thing like winrar but you can just ignore it indefinitely.

Does WMM crash or anything or can it just not import your file? What file type is it?
Ok thank you I'll try that. It literally does nothing apart from open.
probably have a file type that's not supported. try a converter
It was just an mp4 video which have always worked in the past, dunno why they aren't anymore.

Ok, so I have movie maker. It won't let me do anything other than open the app. I can't import anything into it at all.

If there isn't any help for this can someone send me there's in a zip as it was free please? If anyone has version 8 please send :)

General Support / Re: rule of 7/infinite component chain
« on: April 21, 2016, 12:48:31 PM »
So here's a diagram with pictures.  I've got this ridiculous assembly of angle brackets and I want to put a red & black pole with a razor tip on the end for some reason.  I've exceeded the rule of 7, so that's impossible, right?  Wrong!  So here's what you do.  First, you build the rest of your chain on a different base, in this case a new baseplate anchor

(Image removed from quote.)

Now I go into the bot file and find the lines associated with the black extender.  We want to look at the black extender because we want to stick it, and everything attached to it, to our chain of 7.  So, we take the number that tell us the parent component of the black extender (ie, what's it connected to, in this case the baseplate anchor) and change that number to the number of where we want to drop it, in this case the 7th angler bracket, which I happen to know is 7.

If necessary, we'd change the number beneath it, but we don't have to in this case

(Image removed from quote.)

And voila, that's it

(Image removed from quote.)

thank you!! im doing it now
