I've decided to change the arena to Electric Arena 2. With that, I'm happy with the tournament rules and layout. So... I haven't done this for myself yet.

The tournament mod has been on a bit of a hosting hiatus and that's not a good precedent! I said that I'd like to take over Yoda's tournament idea after he gave people the right to do so, so here it is. I didn't want to keep the name but I couldn't think of anything better :P  I don't need the poll but I'd like to gauge interest.

(Image removed from quote.)

Building rules:
DSL 2.2 - Unrealistic/Stock rules
Weight - HW (up to 800.0kg)
No BFE or any other kind of editing outside of the bot lab, however, as mentioned above, in-game glitches are fine
No cheatbot2
No multibots
There are no limits to how much or how many times you can update your bot after you have submitted one but be wary that the version you send in could be the one I use, if you don't update your robot in time. So, please, be vigilant when making and sending off your bot
Serge's rule of 7 breaker is allowed but no other component freedom

Other rules:
Electric Arena 2 - Hazards off
Swiss layout
3 minute matches
Havok rule - 1 strike results in a restart, 2 strikes and you're out. These havoks have to be game effecting (such as touching the opposing bot whilst havoking or a bot causing damage to itself via havoking) *
Maximum of 8 entries
Feel free to AI your own bot if you wish but I'll AI for you if you can't or won't. If you bot has any specifications in terms of their .py, please attempt to AI it yourself but I will do my best to apply the correct .py.

*If a bot havoks when the outcome of the match is near certain, that will be at my discretion, I will not restart the match and I will award the win to the bot that was about to win.
This is now a signups topic and I can't change these rules. I have 9 months :P

A wild gimmick appears!

RULES:

BUILDING RULES:
-Stock HW (800 kg)
-Bots must have a number of powered wheels that is odd and greater than 1. (I'm expecting mostly 3-wheelers, but hey, 5 wheels, 7 wheels, 203 wheels, whatever floats your boat)
-Multibot rule: each part of the multibot must fit the above rule.  Total number of wheels between the multibots does not matter.
-No SnS because they're lame
-Bots must show controlled movement
-No non-stock components (this includes reskins)
-Flamethrower allowed, other cheatbot components are not allowed
-AI components allowed
-No BFE, AAM, EXP, or whatever other crazy acronym you guys use
-Rule of 7 break allowed; other SergePatcher features are not

OTHER RULES:
-Combat Arena, hazards off (may change on suggestion)
-3 minute matches
-Best of 1, double elimination
-Havok rule: first match-altering havok = restart.  Second match-altering havok = forfeit.
-16 spots (or maybe more if there's a ton of interest)
-I will enter with Sealion Hammersmith (of course):

Anything I missed?  Any interest?  Obviously, I can't run this until Friendship Rumble awards finish up, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out there.
This is now a signups topic and the rules quoted may not change. Have fun, you've got 9 months.

I don't brick that often with Monarchs :P But, that's an interesting combo. I love how the more complex and anti-meta decks become, the more they are open to the stuff the meta was formed around (Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, etc.)

I'm not too fond of the new Sir K, tbh.

How have you gone about doing that? Is it consistent/good against the meta?

Considering the interest, I'm going to make this a nice and quaint 8-man tournament. However, how do people want me to do the tournament? I really like the idea of a Swiss format (like Round Robin but will end when there is a definite winner) or I could do double elimination. I rather dislike the double elimination format but, if an overwhelming amount of people would prefer double elim, I'll do that instead.

Locking this topic and applying a 9 month ban on Mystic2000 from posting any discussion topics and a further 3 month ban on moving any discussion topics to signups after this time period. You may lift this ban by completing this tournament but you will not gain a host point. PM me to unlock this thread if you wish to finish the tournament.

Never let anything like this deter you from making another tournament if you ever have the time and want to do it. A shame that it went down this way but I'd love to see the ban lifted and this tournament finished.

Looking at the tournament rules thing, I guess I don't need to have a poll anymore, which is good since I can't seem to make one anyway.
I seriously don't understand why this is happening. Just in case you would like to see interest, like I did with Geice (I think), do you want me to make a poll for you?

Edit: As a work around (and what you should probably be doing, anyway), when making a new tournament and you want an opinion poll with it, click 'New Poll' and not 'New Topic'.

Unless you're really fussed about spoilers, everyone check here for your next match-ups. Badnik, you've got Dan, my mate who's filling in for powerrave, so just tell me what times you can do in the next 7 days and I'll pass that on to him. Everyone else should be able to contact their opponents. If you can't, just pm me. Video for Dan vs Eco will be up whenever.

It could have been their performance but their rather lacklustre performance doesn't reflect well on them as a band, to me.
