Indeed, Kujii puts it well. I was fine with it in the original thread at first, then it turned into a megathread and spread throughout the forum and yeah, I know a lot of people are fed up. Just hope people will understand how others feel, and I thank the mods for this slight restriction.

I think you need DSL or custom components to be able to make decent Pokemon reps. I mean, what Pokemon have you seen that look exactly like a chassis you can build or have red/black extenders XD

It should probably be less serious too, not like moaning about bot types, I mean who says it has to be battle-effective? I'd prefer to see a nicely crafted, weaponless Porygon or something than a cheap Staryu SNS.

Like I also said, I'd be willing to take it over and turn it into DSL HW to stop restricting freedom. Dugtrio is DSL HW.

That's what I thought (DSL/skinned components/Stock MW just meaning HS)
I think DSL... I mean, Dugtrio looks pretty sexy, you couldn't make anything LIKE that in Stock. 5608

Laaame.
I had this idea yesterday (for after I finish RIMP soon) and was gonna do it as a DSL HW tourney where you fight through a 'league' of 4 different pokemon-bots built by me, with 2 or 3 being eliminated each time (slowest time to kill pokebot or least points or least time survived etc) and then an all-out brawlfest at the end. A plan which is infinitely cooler than restricted Stock MW single elimination. AND JD and I had plans for a Pokemon Challenge. 5609

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Debate Thread: UK Style Flippers vs American Style Flippers« on: June 12, 2011, 04:22:03 PM »
I picked UK flippers only for the fact that they throw forward, not straight up, and so are generally better in OOTA situations.
However, I do kind of like the very serious look of the US flippers, even if they look very chunky. I think they look better than a big ugly wedge, like the new Iron Awe or whatever they're called now. The upwards flipping is also pretty cool, i like seeing things spin in the air, but I voted UK as my take on the question is which do you think is more battle-effective. 5611

General Support / Re: AIing Help!« on: June 09, 2011, 05:24:36 PM »
You need to change the 'bindings' file in the AI folder. Open it and you'll see a load of nasty code. You need to replace the bot you've taken out with the bot you're putting in.

To me, it looks like an invertible wedge with a VS on the vertical side.

I reeeeally like this idea, been thinking about it for ages, specifically to kill off the Horse thread from my 'Recent Posts' box.

Offspring, Deftones and White Lies are awesome on the Friday, but I'd go and see practically everyone on the main stage.
Saturday? Strokes, Pulp, Madness. 'Nuff said ![]() |
