Another bulk from me again. This is a beetle weight for Guldenflame's Beetle-Weight tournament. If you can see, I've stacked two ant batteries together, it's hard to see from the picture but when it's in the Bot Exchange, you'll see for yourself. I can't seen to keep this bot stable but anyone have advice or it just me building the wrong bot type for a Beetle-Weight?

I'll making an entry soon. Just don't expect it to be a good one.
Edit: Actually I'm lying. This will be the first time I would of built a Beetleweight for DSL. While it won't be as good as most of mine heavier bots, it's still worth a shot.

Those 6 years are only wasted if you didn't do anything good on or for the site. Which you did a good handful of things in what I've seen from you, so happy 6 years on GTM Mechadino!

Crash is the worst because it cannot beat any other bot here 1 on 1, even sneaky poke
If you could record Crash beating Sneaky Poke, I might pay you if you do so.

Worst Robot: Hell Spawn 1.2 (I'm honestly surprised this hasn't got a vote considering its no-win record. Its a shame, too, considering it could have done better had there been some tweaks.)
Finally someone agree to my embarrassment in bot building! Yet, I little surprised why no one actually thought about voting this bot for worst robot. It could just be because Hell Spawn 1.2 just happens to be that one bot that constantly slips under the radar, because of other Robots looking a lot worst than Hell Spawn like Red Claw or Skellachopper.

It's because Hell Spawn isn't total sh**. It's got a terrible record, but at least it looks decent, whereas compared to all other voted or considered robots:
  • The Sneaky Poke: Great banter, but... yeah. I'd kinda like to see something serious from Adam, because when you produce the PM's pulverizor, you do have some standards and expectations to live up to.
  • Tankslapper: Good replica but **** me this is a boring robot, it's literally a wedge with an ocasional flail. We've the Pay Tribute with Replicas thread for a reason Kurt.
  • Serenity in Murder: It's a box with a disc. Yawn.
  • Red Claw: Meh. Just not all that good. Bland and rushed.
  • Crash: 09 cmon this isn't the worst robot, but Crash in my opinion wasn't that funny tbh.
  • Hornbob: This robot is damn good, what are you smoking Orc?
  • Skellachopper: I kinda like it honestly but 3 maces and a somewhat bland design makes it possible to see why it got voted.

To quote Demon from the Discord chat: "Performance, looks, whatever you want to judge on" Hornbob did well but like I said, in my opinion it's just a red 259. No offense meant. I've never heard of Tankslapper before which is why I didn't vote it for the same reason. :P

Say anything you want, Everyone's votes are only opinions at the end of the day like saying the Sneaky Pole is the worst robot over any other robot.  Why I said that Hell Spawn was ****, is because of it's performances in it's battles; the extenders get ripped off, not being to flip a bot over due to being unable to get under bots and being unable to self-right when needed. When all these factors make it bad to the so-so line. To me this makes this the worst in performance but never in looks, due to how some Robots looking worst like Red Claw despite the poor skinning of Hell Spawn. So I just interpretive the Worst Bot Award just for looks but not performance alone like many other users like Botomatic and jdg37 would might of thought the same. So just say what you want about this, it's only an opinion in the end.

Stock Showcases / Re: TheOrcCorp's Stock Showcase
« on: March 19, 2017, 11:39:19 AM »
Hi OrcCorp and Welcome to the forums.
First of all, Don't use regular Z-Teks for the drive. They may be lighter than the High Powered version but the High Power Z-teks will allow your Robot to move much faster while using the same amount of power as a normal Z-Tek. Despite their weight, this makes them the ideal motor for all Stock builders; on some of your heavy weights like Flippermation, you don't need three Super-volts to power a Heavy Weight. I often told by senior members that you should have at least two Supervolts for a heavy weight at least, the Battery power from two will be enough to keep a heavy weight going for about 3 min, otherwise you should check and read this power consumption chart when you have the time to know how much power you really need. https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=2654.0.
Finally, I recommend checking out the Starcore and BBEANS AI packs in the download section, these packs are chocked full of well built Stock bots that will test your machines to the limit. You might learn a few things from these bots and you can try to replicate these bots yourself. I hope this helps.

I did the whole tutorial again without the compiler and with notepad ++, and I'm pretty happy with the result.
Thank you very much 090901! If I could up rep you, I would do so if I had the powe.  I'll keeping this tutorial in my bookmarks just in case I'll need it again.
This is what I was working on if you want to know:

Made the changed to the txt file, which should be alright. Unfortunately, I tried using the Serge compiler but it keeps crashing when I try to decompile files, possibly due to the program being a little outdated (I was using version version 0.16 which hasn't been updated since 2010) Which is why I ended up using the Megabyte compiler because that program works. I'll try again with notepad + when I can, unless anyone can find a better solution.

Honestly, these kinds of posts is why I left GTM in the first place. You think you can do anything, and you are wrong.

And because of this, I will be severely decreasing my activity on GTM.

Thanks 090901. Now I followed all your instructions on how to skin. But when I select the part ,the game crashed! I'm not joking but I'm not sure what's wrong with the game or I did something wrong. Can anyone explain?

General Support / Learning to component skin.

Hey it's me again with another problem.
Now, I've been thinking about learning to skin component like the DSL Armour plates and the problem is, I need some advice on how to get started and how to do. I got the GMF Compiler in my downloads and I watched Sage's video on how to skin.  But I don't know what to do from there and Most of the tools used in Sage's video like the Dummy program are said to be outdated in the download section. Can anyone give me a starting point on how to skin?

Best Robot: Tortuga Ninja/ Tortuga 2: Just read my previous comments on this board and you'll see why.
Worst Robot: I would put Hell Spawn here due to being useless but I can't because I can't vote for myself. So It's got to be Red Claw: What No BFEing? The Rules did state that a builder could BFE. But did this builder have anything that allows them to edit the Bot file? Despite it's
weaponry, it could of looked ascetically better, said the person who poorly skinned his bot.
Coolest Robot:Subterfuge: Love the paint job for Subterfuge and the weaponry but overall, the paint job makes this bot stand out.
Luckiest Robot: SkellaChopper: I was expecting that this bot would fall in the earlier rounds but surprisingly, it got through by not doing much.
Unluckiest Robot: Paris Train: It look like Paris Train could of gone to the later rounds, but strong match-ups prevented it from going through.
Most Destructive: Dominotrix: I don't care if ShootingPost called it junk with Eyeballs, the use of the Vlad spears and interchangeable weaponry made this opponent, a force to be reckoned with.
Least Realistic: Spoider: If this was IRL, it fail the safety inspection due to the motors being not only greatly exposed, but also the exposed wiring if bots in this game had to be wired with game wires as well.
Funniest Robot: The Sneaky Pole: No comment
Most boring Robot:The Sneaky Pole: It's funny at first, but the Sneaky Pole rumble was way too boring for my liking.
Best Battle: The First match in the reserve rumble possibly?
Edit: Fixed some grammar mistakes and included best battle.

How many times to I have to correct someone? It's Dark AL! Not Dark AI!. The I is just a little l. I'm sorry about this but I'm just correcting your mistake.

REEEEEEE

(but srsly why does it bother you so much)
Sometimes I don't know, but it always seems like everyone thinks the l in my name happens to be an I half the time like when I first joined the forums, when some users like Rob mistakenly thought/ misread that. When it's a common mistake which can be easily fixed, I do honestly just want to correct someone about it.

You'll get used to it.  People spell Thrackerzod wrong all the time as well.  (Thackerzod, Thrackerzoid, Thrakerzod, etc.)
Yeah, it was me wanting to correct Shield. Besides, even when Shield got name wrong, at least it's not as bad as  someone deliberately get your name wrong.
