Huh? what I mean is, I feel like there is no way to have a left and a right facing set of Etek drives, they are kind of like the burst snappers and other such motors, no way to reverse them for oposite direction use without making rediculously huge bots to house backwards motors.
Clicking the top attachment point does exactly what you want, just as HurricaneAndrew says. Try it out yourself.

I dislike Etek drive motors, they only face one way for me. Unless I'm an idiot and don't know how to mirror them.
There should be an attachment point on the top you can click, no?

Holy cow, I had these. I thought I was the only one! I got them from Next, myself.
My dad bought mine all those years ago, from New Look of all places :P

Oh cool, I had all of those too. Seems your black dome one's arms broke too :P These were pretty cool, but broke more quickly than the Robot Wars toys I had. Probably because they had more moving/ replaceable parts to break off. Edit: Oh, 100 posts. Damn, I wanted to do something cool for that. Oh well, roll on 150 posts then :P

I have some of these! Specifically, the blue one and the orange chainsaw one. Road Champs I believe they were called. Not sure, it was a long time ago. Edit: A google image search suggests that isn't their name. Edit 2: I checked to see if any company name was written on them, but no. Only a 'Made in China'

Get rid of the sheet, it looks flimsy and out of place.
Done, and added to previous post.

Remade that shell panel flipper: With sheet: Now an entire top panel flips instead of only a front panel. Alternative views: Without sheet: Open to name suggestions.

Whilst Absolute Chaos is a very good bot, I'm fairly sure it is outdated. I would try your bot against something more recent. Also, did you AI it? Doesn't look like you did, but correct me if I'm wrong. Testing with it AI'd is always better than you driving it. This is more of a personal thing, but maybe now that you've proven you have the basics (or not basics) of good building down, maybe try something less generic. An interesting hybrid, perhaps? (again, this is a personal thing. I just find mega-HS's boring)

Takes a little getting used to, but it works really well. Awesome work :) One thing is it's kinda difficult to get the parts to go where you want sometimes. Maybe you could use an attachment point system, similar to extenders in RA2?
It already does use an attachment system similar to RA2, however I just added endpoints, so you can now constraint a metal bar between two points without having to fiddle with the settings. Furthermore I added the ability to hold shift / control to rotate pitch and yaw quickly. If this wasn't what you meant, please elaborate.
My problems were mostly fixed by the most recent update. Feel free to ignore that suggestion. New suggestion, though, is it possible to have the length slider going in smaller increments?

Motors can now be moved around or removed after being placed.
Sounds good, it always irritated me slightly that I couldn't move motors around once placed in RA2. I got used to it eventually, but it would be a welcome change :) I know this is a really long way down the line, but are you considering having replicas of real life robots in the game? I'd love to see some real robots made with slightly more realistic physics and/or destruction. (like I said, I know this is a long time away)

This reminds me so much of Bamzooki it's unreal. The height, width and length sliders, the flat textured area for testing, it's so similar. Did you base some of it on that? Anyway, so far it looks interesting, but obviously it's early days so I won't give any proper judgement on it. It is promising, however. As for the metal bars idea, if that would allow for more realistic deformation of the chassis, and even baseplate components being torn out in combat, then go for it.

There is a list of cheatbot2 components that are allowed in the rules. If its not on the list, it's probably banned.

I have made a start on a robot so ill sign up but can i be in one of the latter heats so i can finish building it
Thats not really how it works, I'm afraid. You have to send Badnik the robot itself before he will put you on the signups list. He needs the robot before the tournament starts, so he can AI it etc.

Just add "plus.practice(True)" to SuperArenas's Activate method. You'll be modifying "Arenas/__init__.py". If you only want it to affect a single arena, add it to that arena's Activate method.
Interesting, I might try this. Does this also mean the AI will not leave you to be counted out? Thanks Trov :)

Axe Handler and Dreamcaster 2 are very nice, and so is Phatty.

Well, you're certainly right about it looking cool, it looks awesome! I love the skin and the hexplates :) It probably needs to be wider to work well, though.

You can't turn immobilization off. You can, however, just keep pushing your opponents around so they never get immobilized, but that's about it.

So I remade Blackjack.
Here is the original model, the one with the axe head shaped like a spade Original.
And here is the new version, Blackjack 2. The axe has been scrapped and been replaced by the chain drive for the horizontal flywheel. The same chassis is used but with a different paint job. The third version of Blackjack will be very similar to Blackjack 2 but with a vertical flywheel and maybe a different name. Updated.
Awesome, both of them. All of your bots look great, Kurt.
