Custom Components Showcase / Lemonism's Custom Showcase
« on: December 06, 2014, 07:29:07 PM »
This probably won't be updated often, but here it is anyway.

This is my first robot that uses a BFE'd chassis, and also uses a custom flipper component and skirt hinge burst. Name is Invidia:

Modifications / Mortis-style AI Release
« on: November 13, 2014, 01:37:01 PM »
Here's an AI to use for Mortis style robots, using a frenZy style hammer with a burst motor flipper:

To use the AI you need the flipper's control to be a button called 'Flip' and the flipper smartzone to be called 'flip', and you need the hammer control to be an analogue called 'Hammer' with a smartzone named 'whipzone'.
The AI will use the burst flipper as a srimech.
So you don't have to make your own robot to test the .py I've packaged a demonstration robot, called Axon, and here is just a basic Bindings line for it:
Code: [Select]
list.append(("Axon","Mortis",{'invertible':False,'radius':0.1,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5,'weapons':(15,)}))Obviously to use Axon you will have to add it to an AI team.
Massive thanks to Trov, without whom my code would never have actually worked :P

General Support / Display messages question
« on: January 10, 2014, 03:45:15 PM »
Just a quick question, not sure if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it looking through old posts here.

Basically, I want to be able to play with display messages turned off, because I find the points annoying when playing. However, I like having the immobilization counter appear. Is there any way at all to have the immobilization counter appear, but have other status messages like points and the robot names in the corners gone (or is it something that can't be solved without the source code)?
Thanks for any help.

DSL TC Showcases / Lemonism's DSL Showcase
« on: August 10, 2013, 05:38:43 AM »
I downloaded DSL 2.1 today, and made my first bot.

And the insides:

NPC fasts, and hopefully you can see the rest.
I decided to start with this rather than anything IRL, as I believe some people have been saying that that is a better idea for a newcomer to DSL, and besides all I have built up to this point is stock, and DSL-S is much closer to stock than IRL is. I may try IRL in the future, but for now I'm sticking with DSL-S.
Keep in mind that I have no idea how batteries work in DSL, other than ant batteries being good, and also don't know what the best weapons are yet.

Stock Showcases / Lemonism's stock showcase

Hey everyone, I'm new here, and I read somewhere that starting a showcase was a good idea for a newbie, so that's what I'm doing. I've no idea how all of this works so forgive me if I get something wrong.
First bot, called Some Kind of Blue.

Under the disk is a servo. I really hope that worked, and if it did then thanks for your time.
