General Support / Re: dsl screen resolution error upon startup« on: October 31, 2014, 12:16:34 AM »
i actually love the letterboxing i posted a thread asking if i could do it on a widescreen laptop of mine a while back because the game would stretch horizontally and it was pretty ugly. the error is what was really bothering me. the game starts getting slow after a little playing ive noticed too. anyways, do you remember what you did in the cfg file?

General Support / dsl screen resolution error upon startup« on: October 30, 2014, 07:23:17 PM »
i installed dsl from the all-in-one download that we have here onto a laptop running windows 8.1
the two initial splash screens came up (infogrames and dsl) and then after that the game window closed up this is the error i got before the game finished starting up: "cyberlink power2go does not support the current screen resolution and dpi setting" now when i went to open up the forum to post about it i noticed that the bottom of the screen ra2 was still running minimized and when i went to click on it the game was actually letterboxed vertically so that it was running at a regular resolution instead of being stretched to widescreen (something i've always wanted! i wish i could figure out how to do that on my own computer) but i was wondering why it might be doing this and if theres any way around it my music in the game also skips when i perform certain actions, like exporting robots out of the botlab any input is greatly appreciated much love yall 505

thank god someone is doing something about the ridiculous attachments points on the replica parts. maybe make it so you can actually rotate them in the component window in a manner where you can actually see them as well?

im running 1440x900 and my mac runs in the 2000s, i'd love to see someone add these resolutions because changing mine in the game the highest resolution will prevent my game from even starting to anything but a black screen and i've hesitated changing it since then knowing that anything but the default or the exact resolution is going to cause problems from what it seems (maybe a smaller one would work while still being bigger than the default but i'm afraid of having to reinstall all over again for a second or third time now)

Tutorials and Tips / Re: Guide to the .Bot File (Re-up)« on: October 29, 2014, 12:13:20 AM »
thats nifty. could you post some numbers for heights necessary for common motors? im guessing the .bot file editor can be found in media or downloads, wherever the mods are. asides from all this crazyness, editing should be self explanatory, no?

say whaat? is there a thread where this happened? that's a hell of a head start if i've ever heard one
ive been thinking about it all day. the biggest roadblock i thought of was rotating components or shifting them when you place them. i guess holding the component in place with one finger and then rotating with the other by moving in a circular manner and shifting up and down by moving straight vertically? then place it down with a double tap i guess. idk just thoughts 518

Game Development / mobile robot combat?« on: October 28, 2014, 11:51:12 PM »
ive noticed a lot of people here are pretty damned good with using the unity engine, which is great for making mobile games. i've also seen robot combat games done in flash and shockware (like the one that was on miniclip for a long time). has anyone considered making a robot combat game for mobile devices? i think it would introduce a whole new audience to the games and to the community, and who wouldnt want the ability to play something like this on the go? there are far more complex games than ra2 for mobile devices nowadays, i'm sure if it was packed up properly and the controls mapped in the right way you could probably get ra2 on a phone at this point. anyone think robot combat on mobile is a good idea?
