I too prefer option 2.
I think that would look much cooler with a scrapyard/junk themed skin, but that's personal preference.
Also personal preference, but i don't really like the non-matching front wheels.
If you want to keep them for the speed increase then go for it, but I think it would look so much better without.

Looks decent, but I don't think it needs a third wedge in the middle.
Also iirc the large ramplates really suck, so I would replace it with some titanium or steel sheets or something.
Can we see a view of the chassis and the back? I can't see how the drive motors are mounted.
Also, Rusty 2.0 looks pretty sweet.

Not sure its a shell spinner, but it looks alright. A nice skin would be a good addition.
The LW looks nice as well, although the wedge is a little off-putting.

If I remember right those JX bursts are not the best to use, BSGs are better, but I can't really think of anything else right now.

Looks a bit bulky to me, maybe you could make it shorter?
I like the idea of the weapon itself, looks like some sort of evil death rake :P
I think it would look better 4 wheel drive, but then you would risk making it look like a generic Tornado type bot I guess.
It's given me a cool idea of my own though, I may give that a go later.

It's not bad, I like it.
Maybe if you curved the back of the chassis a bit more it would look more crab-like?
Also I like the batteries as crab eyes. Very clever :)

Fairly sure the top spinners are intersecting, so unrealistic by standard standards. Otherwise it looks pretty good to me, though I'm not sure how effective the side spinners would actually be.

This is pretty common knowledge, but like you said it's for newcomers. It's probably a better idea just to improve your own building, however. Whether you go for making cool looking bots or making killing machines there is much more satisfaction to making your own robot than using someone else's. That said it is a good idea to tell the new people that importing other peoples bots and seeing how they're built is a good way to improve. Just don't copy the bot exactly, people don't like having their work stolen
