Moral of this is that no one should run competitive IRL games because the meta is garbage and always favors spinners and drums.

Made a new bot, juggler/fs hybrid

Pretty fast and weapons last longer than I expected vs spinners. Plastic 5, 8 ants. Good against gutrippers.

Also another update on le trackbot

There's an even newer version with 80cm angled polys attached to the front of the tracks for stability, but I can't remember what I changed between that and this otherwise XD

The wedges are surprisingly okay, but the main thing is that it's very front heavy - a bot gets under it, and travels quickly towards the chassis. The bot then kind of pivots on the skirts on the side, and it then has its weapons in the right spot to deweapon gutrippers. I've updated it yesterday so I'll post that up later when I'm back from school. Razors on the perms are there to look good and make it funkier :)

I don't really know what to say about the TRFBD since I've never made one myself, but I imagine it's very deadly given that it has the same weaponry as RPP.  Speaking of which, how well does it do against flail SnS?

Badly but that whole bot type matchup is miserable. They typically do well against every other bot type and can sometimes beat Sns (the TRFBD's wheels get removed, then the SnS just hits the external weapons and occasionally this leads to outweaponing)

Felt like making some weirder stuff than my usual jugglers or popups, so here's a trackbot and probably my best TRFBD in a long time.

Titanium 5, 5 ants. It's far from optimal (notably the shell spinner pieces, which I could replace with some underside weapons), and, well, it's a trackbot, but it's effective against gutrippers.

Dunno why but this configuration seems to have a higher damage output than some others. Also weapon spread is good, not too thin or too spread out. Need to test it against SS.

Ah, I thought you fled before my obvious glory.
Nah, I've been practicing Project M for most of last year. There's a deadspot in tournaments at the moment so I have more time to play other games and work.

Looking forward to beating you again, oh fraudulent one.

If you're using a Windows 8 computer, then you need to set the 'Fullscreen' option in your settings off. That took me a bit too.
Cheers man.

Since I managed to produce some killer bots already to diminish Marty's spirit, I was preparing to showcase them, but I ended up having the screenshots not work properly, just ending up as black rectangles.

And no, I don't especially want to play DSL 3, before a newer member asks. I'd rather get back to stuff I'm familiar with first and get that free title of best DSL 2.1 builder (let's face it, Nary is pretty free these days, too much flash, dunno about anyone else lol).

Voting's over, here's the rankings of anyone who got a vote:

DSL:
martymidget - 13
Naryar - 8
Virus Bomb - 8
090901 - 7
MassioV - 6

bring it
never lost to you in tournament m8, hope you like getting 3-0'd because it'll happen every time.

Welcome back, I had a look at your old showcase and your bots are very cool.
So this is the same version you were trying to extract right? https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=5
I've never had that error before so I'm not sure what's causing it. When I googled the error all of the results seemed to be about WinRar, so you could try using 7zip instead if you were using winrar before.
Thanks.
I use 7Zip currently.Might just try downloading again since my internet is often a little shaky, so file corruption is a possibility.

Edit: Works now, that was quite simple.

Sup scrubs, been a while since I built anything so I wanna come back in and beat you all, but sadly fate seems to want you to remain un-disgraced, as the old DSL2.1 Rar I've got doesn't extract properly and neither do new ones I've downloaded (Unexpected Archive End errors). Any ideas? I dunno if a pack with 123AI or NarAI would work better.

Only active metalcore bands that do anything for me are Converge, Gaza and maybe Every Time I Die.

Crawlers are far from unbeatable so I'd say they're okay. I'd so TRFBDs do almost all the same stuff somewhat better but eh

Would it be preferable if I state individual matchups for each bot type?

My mains currently are Peach, Marth, C.Falcon and Jigglypuff, who all seem pretty strong. I play as Peach the most on the merit of her excellent edgeguards and buffed dash attack.

One thing I do have to say is that Ness is stupid in this game. Downthrow combos into 3 fairs and backthrow is even stronger than it used to be :P

Played another tournament today, BARELY lost to AyyyDeeeee (top 5 PM player in the UK) and J3ly (about the same tbh), so pretty happy with my performance.

I've played a bit of this recently. Thankfully my PM mains are actually strong here (besides Spacies who are utter trash here), so I play DK, Falcon and Sheik. I also really like Little Mac on FD but he's trash anywhere else.
