Off-Topic Discussion / Re: worried about the forums direction.« on: August 25, 2010, 09:12:26 AM »I agree, although I think it may be less 'not wanting' the new players to do stuff, more wanting them to know about things before they do them. We know what the tournaments can end up like, and they should know too, just so they know how things go wrong, and what is a good idea/has been done before, etc. we have plenty of preventions towards bad tournaments now.. so there is no need for them in this discussion, majority chooses what goes through. but my point remains.. if its a stupid idea, silly tournament, etc why do so many on here bite peoples face off ? when I started CC1 the original ruleset was fail... someone could have flamed me and I would have packed up and left then and there but instead SB helped me fix them up... so again I say its other manor and not so much the new members. dont like something tell someone, dont spam TLT everywhere, tell people to leave, shut up, etc just nudge them into the right direction, you get more progress out of people when you treat them nicer (this post isnt directed at you craaig) 4566
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: worried about the forums direction.« on: August 25, 2010, 08:49:13 AM »
this discussion has gone all over the place and many aspects are contradicting???
now from what I can gather there is the following points made...
so massive floor right here is you want more RA2 related posted but you dont want any inexperienced players making tournaments, mods, asking things or suggesting things.... so what is it you want people to actually do besides post in the junkyard ? see the problem ? (I do) perhaps less friction between yourself's will stop so many "evacuating" to off topic sections? all work together towards a common goal rather then fighting? Im not saying this is every single one of you but I can take a good guess that over 50% of you post something negative towards someone else at least once a week. something to think about, community degradation is done by the majority not a select group ![]() 4567

I know how to as I have used marine rushes to victory before.. but all it takes is zealots to be constantly built while the marines take there time breaking rocks and they have enough to hold off no problems.. I hate maps with the path blockers for this reason :P 4568

yeah I am sick of terran :P I snap up some other new terran users easy enough but it falls to easy to zerg and protoss.. a noob with protoss could probably hold off a marine rush with zealots

being only able to move in circles was considered immobile in RW

just food for thought...
you know nearly every argument in this thread is rather pointless due to time lapse right ? :P And that was 8 years ago. exactly.. so people are saying a modern robot better then one 8 years older (in its latest revision in competition) due to essentially being more advanced in technology ? 4571

Custom Components Showcase / Re: freeziez's Backlash Showcase« on: August 24, 2010, 09:32:43 PM »No, it makes perfect sense, it's just that I don't see why it's "illegal" if I combine different class parts if THEY ARE ONLY RECOMMENDED. lolz I made the mod and your debating with me over it, its the rules and point of the game, just like realistic rules. Please explain to me how restricting certain parts to certain classes enhances realism then. It makes no sense. have you ever seen a VS with 8 sledge hammers? or a SnS/ Whipper with 24 razor spikes ? it keeps parts to there real life use, if you dont like it then simply dont play Backlash.. because its the way I wish to do it now. 4575

well I am not mistaken that window for RA2hooks appeared via python coding.. so essentially its opening a hole in the .exe that allows some manipulation by python. just what I can make of it.. I could be wrong
