There was one I quite liked on the net..

French Fryer
Would you like a side of spies with that?

Not that that's a decent SF name at all but mer.

There are music box components, I know that much.

Bongos should have had their own taunt...
"I LOVE TO PLAY MY BONGOS IN THE MOOOORNING"

Very popular on the Funky House scene...

<3 this.

I don't use my Pyroland set all too much right now when I do play anyway, kinda preferring getting the kill count up on my Festive XD

..I should totally give that a name.

Well most of the people going are coming further than Marty and I and it's costing us like £10 each, so if it's not gonna be a major, all-day thing, is it worth declaring this dead, at least this time?
That way we can also conserve money for our Cardiff trip.. ;D

Well that reduces the amount of us going quite dramatically. If its just Marty and I, we can have a much cheaper day here.. *is there much point in this now?*

On a side note, I'm now the proud owner of a full Pyroland set.
I don't know about the rest of you, but to me, there's something immensely satisfying about incinerating people with sparkling rainbows and bludgeoning the survivors to death with a Lollipop.

Including Balloonicorn!? The only bits I don't have are the Balloonicorn and Bongos..

I play 2fort to just try and kill people, not really the objective very often, unless I'm on a Valve server when i can just plod in and out with it XD

Adding to discussion: Heavies are so much more W+M1 than Pyro, just no-one rages about it because that's pretty much what Heavies were meant to do.

What I find the most annoying class is demoknights. So much 1HKO, then people have the audacity to complain about the Caber.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Merrick's Attempts At 'Realistic' DSL
« on: July 14, 2012, 05:45:43 AM »
Looks pretty cool. I'd recommend getting some more weight by shrinking the chassis a little, bringing the height down, and mounting your burst motors - if you still need them - with just 1 raised multi-extender, rather than the crazy looking extender work in there right now.

If you want invertability, use Tornado wheels (after shrinking the chassis), otherwise I'd recommend other grippier wheels than the Tazbot wheels, like Hypnodisc's.

It looks pretty cool indeed. Just remember the 1 ant rule, which doesn't apply for burst motors - you should always try and fully power those using the amps it says in the description.

Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of 'normals' but here we go. Some weapons only deal damage at one specific point - with the Pointy Tip you're using on the tail, it literally only deals damage with the tip. It's fine for IRL bots because they're not all about damage, but if you happen to want to make more damage, maybe use a Razor Tip or Iron Spike. People can let you know what weapons have/haven't got normals as and when required :D

But yeah, looks pretty cool as a first DSL IRL bot :D

I used to find this hilarious.

The first rule is:

"Have fun"

Everything else comes second.

This. Just remember if all these people trying to make your stuff 'more efficient' is annoying you, ignore it. Build the way you want to. Hell, this will be a surprise to many, but I still play Stock, I just don't build efficiently, I build more 'IRL' designs as you do.

The game mechanics are strange when it comes to flippers and such. Burst motors don't exist in real life, but the equivalent would need CO2, however the makers didn't think of this so burst motors only suck up electric power.

Other mods? DSL and Stock are the only 2 real 'versions', everything else is built off them, like harder AI packs for Stock (Starcore etc) and DSL (Nar AI).

Signups are 'officially' closed, with 11 spots remaining.

HOWEVER.

I'ma be a little naughty and say you MAY still enter, until I have finished AIing and making splashes, AS LONG AS your entries come with AI and obey all rules - if there's an issue I find, I won't wait for an update as I have been doing.

What I'd usually do is export the skin template from bot lab, then just increase the size up to 512 or 1024. I tend to do that in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, it has a nice resize tool, then export that as a bmp and put the skin on that in Paint.

Use a larger skin. I imagine you were using the 256x256 one they give you and just resized the eyes and stuff to fit on? Use a larger skin, 512x512 or 1024x1024 and it shouldn't be so blurry.. I believe.

Lookin' good though.

Well I'm happy to know this is the reason you opened up RA2 again :D Entries look pretty cool.

In fact, I must say, everyone's entries are looking great, thanks for entering everyone :D
