It does it automatically, if you thought he was doing it himself. No need to get so worked up about it :PDude, learn how to make a good skin.Ok, But I do agree with MassimoV, your skins do need improving. 443

Personally I think a robot called Teeth of the Shark need more than one tooth, maybe you could downgrade the drive a bit in order to get more teeth on the robot?
Sleek Swimmer looks pretty good. I like the fins on the top, my only real complaint is the decals on the top and sides look slightly out of place. Maybe you could replace them with gills or something? 444

Not sure why you have the beater bars vertical on the end of the horizontal bar on the LW. If the reason is that it can't reach lower robots, then you could consider trying to very slightly angle the motor downwards to hit lower targets. You might have to separate the extenders for the motor and the plow somehow to achieve this.
To make the HW look more like the LW, if you made it 2wd and gave it bigger wheels I think it would look better. Changing the skins so they match would also help. Also, the LW has the weapon mounted outside the chassis quite visibly, whilst the HW has it inside the chassis. HW looks quite cool though. (Edit: removed a rogue 7) 445

Go to 'Downloads' at the top of this page, and click 'Textures, Edges, and Decals' to find some skin packs you can use.

Hey, welcome back n' stuff :)
I'm sure I recognize your name, was it you who built that awesome robot with the disk with panels facing inwards, lined with teeth? 448

I quite like Beggamyte. The flipper is slightly odd, especially the skirt sticking up, but the chassis shape is quite nicely done. If the main part of the flipper was made of flippermakers or something it might look a little better.
The others don't look so good to me. If you're going for IRL bots, then make them actually look like something a real builder would make. Imo Beggamyte is the only one of these bots that achieves the look of a real robot. If you're going for just cool looks, then you need to put some more thought into the designs rather than just making a chassis and throwing on any old part. Also skinning could be improved. Download some skin packs and you can make better looking skins in the bot lab, or you can learn how to use Paint.Net or any other painting program of your choice so you can make HD skins outside the bot lab. 449

I think the tryhard weapon is the only DSL-S thing about it, at least as far as I see it. Fix that and it's a pretty nice looking bot.

Agree with helloface, the back of that flipper is very nice :)
The front is alright as well, but I can't help but think it might be more suited to another robot type rather than flipper. Perhaps VS or hammer? I still like it, though. 451

I like playing Byzantines, Chinese or Koreans mostly. Byzantines for tougher buildings, Chinese for their special unit and for the extra villagers at the start, and Koreans for slightly better towers.

Oh yeah, I should buy the HD one now that I have time to play it. Thanks for the reminder :)

Looks kinda odd with the claw flipping back as well as the front imo, but if you made the chassis shorter and took out the claw I think it could be a really awesome flipper.

Add some extra extenders to the hammers so that you can get more razors on them. You probably don't need titanium extenders for the hammers either, since the hammers should be hitting the top of an opponents chassis (most hammers I see tend to use just polycarbonate). Many hammers have curved designs to help with this as well, so that's something to think about.
Chassis looks really airtight, so you did a good job there, although it is actually possible to mount the NPC fasts basically half out of the chassis, but still on the baseplate to save chassis space. I'll leave further advice to more experienced players, DSL standard is not really my area (yet). 457

Made a Thor-inspired robot, and was really pleased with it... then realised dezox had make one really recently, and I'd accidentally taken the idea from him. *sigh*
Still, here it is: ![]() 458

That was fun :)No idea at all.I used to do that all the time. They'd surrender only after they've used all their food making new villagers that just die anyway. 460

No idea at all.
Maybe I just spent too much of my time with the game surrounding villagers with wolves on the map editor to find any cool secrets. |
